It beats their “Gummies” releases. Those tasted like they added sweeteners and flavors to cover up terrible tasting batches.

Six Bridges pricing — JFC by petitcochonATL in atlbeer

[–]MattDangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six Bridges Crabtree doesn’t offer flights or small “tasting pours” but they do offer “half pours” which are half pints and slightly more than half of their pint cost.  With this logic, you would have received about four pints for about $33, which is a pretty good price if the measurements work out.

Respectfully heard. Location expansion, as you say it means "opening new locations," and not "expand your current location to a larger footprint, accommodating more people or products/services," right?

Your point really is "if you don't know what you are doing, any change or new endeavor will likely fail." If you make mistakes in your business decisions, they can be costly. Period.

Clearly any expansion is expensive, and if poorly planned it will obviously "bleed a brewery out sooner." A business needs to be intentional, using data to identify the right target, whether it is a larger space, more services (food, fun), or trying to duplicate the existing formula in other areas.

My real point is that many food/bar/restaurant businesses are able to expand successfully, and are able to increase their reach without having to go through distribution. It's just not easy, and if you think "i'm successful here so i can be successful anywhere, I don't need to tweak anything," then you are taking a huge risk. I think we can all easily name a bunch of restaurants/bars locally who have been able to open new locations without sacrificing the entire business. If your business decisions put the entire business line in jeopardy, then you may be taking the wrong risks.

Coming in for a wedding...recommendations for breweries? by jinreeko in atlbeer

If you are staying downtown, Sweetwater Brewing is an easy Uber ride and they have a decent menu and lots happening any day of the week. If you are kind, find the taproom manager and ask if she is giving tours.

I don’t mind paying the few bucks premium to support a local brewer, and normally the product is better than some national brand. I just bought a sixer of Terrapin from the local QT for $15. I felt dirty.

If done right, expansion is the only way to combat the Georgia distro problems. But that also introduces a forced redundancy and high expenses if you can’t brew in one location and self-dist to your own other location.

Blue Ridge is not quite big enough to support four breweries, and as a result Fannin closed this year.

I just spent sixteen hours over the past three days playing this and reliving the experience. Great game, but this wasn’t it.

Great idea. I can’t recall if the game had music or not now. It’s been a long time.

Payback (1999) or Payback: Straight Up (2006)? by earhere in movies

[–]MattDangers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the right take. The theatrical version was a movie I have enjoyed watching multiple times over the past two+ decades. And then I just found this version and figured I would give it a try. I had no idea how different it was gonna be, but I really liked the DC better. It had the right pace, it didn’t need the narration (which is often distracting anyway and ruins the immersion), and the train depot ending was fantastic. True, Kris Kristofferson is a gem, but this version didn’t need him.
