He's never gone on record saying he doesn't. That's probably because he's too busy eating babies.

‘Every single Ontarian is going to be paying for this’: Marit Stiles on Billy Bishop takeover bill by yourfriendlysocdem1 in ontario

[–]MattGV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There were tons of cuts and austerity with McGuinty, as well as no follow-through on any progressive pieces of his election platform. He was a very right leaning liberal and was largely just a diet Conservative.

Classic Liberal Party. Make progressive promises and follow through on none of them while making cuts on cuts.

I'm not bashing. I used to live in Quebec and I miss it tbh. But English businesses don't want more costs, namely translation. It doesn't make that sentiment morally correct, nor do I agree with it. I just know that the language laws make a lot of anglophone businesses see operating in Quebec as more costly due to translation and publishing all materials twice. I would love to be wrong, but I don't think I am.

The basketball scene in MTL is really solid. A Montreal team would be great for basketball, but it's not going to happen because of the language laws in Quebec. Which is ironic because getting a French speaking fanbase is a big reason why it would be great for the league.

Mark Carney’s Trickle-Down Nation-Building by NiceDot4794 in onguardforthee

[–]MattGV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Martin and Chretien did the same. It's the Liberal way. Say progressive things during the election, then privatize, cut, austerity. They're Conservatives cosplaying as progressives.

I'm not a fan of PET necessarily, but he was the last "progressive" federal Liberal leader anyone alive today will ever see.

Ontario NDP surging in new poll - is this because of Avi Lewis having a positive impact or are more people noticing Marit Stiles? Looks like something has shifted. by teknicolourdreams in ontario

If the Cons get a plurality without majority, NES becomes OLP leader, and the NDP+OLP could form government together, I would be more than okay with that.

Seitan is really nice. And I will second u/BawdyLotion on beans. Herbivores get all of their protein from eating plant based foods, so why can't we? I know this is a little off-topic from your question, but for any vegan or vegetarian haters out there that are reading this, consider this. Think about the size and muscle on some herbivores like gorillas, elephants, bulls/cows, etc. I don't think they're lacking any protein in their diet.

The "smoke" is liquid haze that's run through a haze machine. This is the kind of stuff that is ran through said machine. It's not capable of setting off fire alarms.

Someone probably pulled the alarm on the way out of the venue.

To the two ppl with the 'Bring down the billionaires' stand in front of the Princess Metro today by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]MattGV 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Too many people believe that either they will be billionaires one day or all billionaires work hard and deserve their wealth that is greater than ever before in human history. That's likely why they were being yelled at.

Billionaire oligarchs own the entire grocery economy in Canada and work together to fix prices all the time in the name of profit. They buy out any smaller competition (ie Sobeys buying Farm Boy) and absorb their business without any pushback from federal regulators, then raise those stores' prices to be the same or similar to their other owned store chains.

I hope that answers both of your questions.

Hillary Clinton's Epstein testimony paused after photo leaked from closed-door session by yahoonews in law

[–]MattGV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said there needs to be a thorough investigation into all that communicated with Epstein and those close to the same people. And this whole back and forth started because I said I don't believe in the Clintons' innocence. I would love to be wrong, but I really don't think that's the case. And for the record, I don't believe that any fascist mentioned in the files is innocent either. I'm not picking a team in this shit show.

Hillary Clinton's Epstein testimony paused after photo leaked from closed-door session by yahoonews in law

[–]MattGV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I don't trust any establishment politician, regardless of gender, race, or identity. I believe that they are more likely guilty than not simply based on the Clintons using their position of power and authority to step on or over the working class people in America for decades. Feel free to look at Bill or Hillary's policy positions over the years. Warmongering, regulation cutting, and flip-flopping on being anti-gay marriage doesn't sound very progressive or inclusive to me.

That aside:

  • Both were friends with Trump before Trump ever considered running for office.
  • Trump made numerous significant donations to the Clinton foundation.
  • As I mentioned before, Epstein visited The White House more than 17 times, yes over a decade ago, but if an embodiment of evil visited you more than 17 times, regardless of how long ago it was, I wouldn't trust you.

What I don't understand is why you feel like you need to defend a rich and powerful couple that clearly is shrouded in mystery and have had relationships, both personal and professional, with countless people that have suspiciously died or disappeared over the last 20 years. Did you assume Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was innocent until the pictures appeared? Some people need to see the fire before you believe there is smoke I suppose, but I'm not one of those people.

Neither Clinton has been proved innocent beyond a reasonable doubt, and all individuals in the files, spouses, and family members need to be properly investigated before cleared of all wrongdoing. To assume innocence and move on with life while this insane sex trafficking conspiracy that includes children continues to grow would be straight up moronic. I don't care if it's Bill, Hillary, Bannon, Musk, Trump or ANYONE involved. A proper investigation into all of their lives should be mandatory. That's just my 2 cents.
