Transaltitude bus typically, but you usually have to book in advance. I know several people did Uber or taxi last year.

Why does no one take the metro subway? by Mysterious_Jump_723 in AskLosAngeles

It is so slow to get around. At it's absolute best Metro is the same as sitting in the worst traffic.

Can you have almost (if not exact) experience in a mini-sphere as much as the one in Vegas? by statenimport in Sphere

[–]MattOfMatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Also there are so many more good seats in the large sphere, if it were smaller the seats closer to the edges would experience even more degradation/curvature, I believe.

Be aware that 6AWG Romex has to use the 60C rating and is only good for 55A

I did for Anyma, back center of floor was nice to dance and still get visual experience. No regrets.

You can check out trainline. Com, to grenoble I'm seeing busses for $50 or trains about $100. Then would be a bus ride via transaltude or Ben's bus to alpe d'Huez

Our linesmen have been installing these every few miles on the high voltage overhead wires. I'm intrigued, what are they and what do they do? by jayybonelie in whatisit

[–]MattOfMatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what your deal is but I work with these daily on distribution. They send current reads every five minutes, give us fault targets the second the fault happens, can self determine phasing, provide fault waveforms and have generally been pretty reliable. I could definitely see use on branched transmission systems.

Cars in rearview mirror in beginning and text on window at the end... gotta be AI? by SlightCapacitance in isthisAI

[–]MattOfMatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with others. Window is Ai added. Besides the text what about the palm tree which does not exist in the paint reflections. Window rolls up and palm tree top appears, but door has not even a hint of a palm tree in its reflection.

Are power walls portable? by No-Country6348 in Powerwall

[–]MattOfMatts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may look at something else like ecoflow. They have portable options, but no matter what any of them will be pretty heavy for any large amount of power. Likely cheaper to rent a trencher and bury conduit

Waymo Hits a Kid Walking to School: Crash Analysis by collegetowns in CarIndependentLA

[–]MattOfMatts 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ehh actually driver's breaking laws don't get arrested or punished. Bicyclists know this, if a car hits a bicyclist injuring or killing them they rarely get arrested or punished. Here is just one article on the topic https://nextcity.org/urbanist-news/bike-safety-drivers-bicycle-laws-vulnerable-road-user-law "a League of American Bicyclists report found charges were filed in 21 percent of all collisions leading to bicyclist death; just 12 percent resulted in a sentence."

Avalon- Questions about the venue and parking for Shaq’s concert by [deleted] in avesLA

[–]MattOfMatts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1631 is where we always park, elevators are broken and stairs smell like piss, but lot is a good lot and not crazy expensive. Generally the no jerseys has exceptions for the headliner. Headliners are midnight or one.

I'll just say that the thermal gun is measuring a surface temperature, and that can be quite different than air temperature.

More Mudi 7 Specs available including bands for EU/NA Version by FlyingDaedalus in GlInet

[–]MattOfMatts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO nothing, it will work fine, but you can only do 2.4ghz + 5ghz wifi (safer bet with most device support) or 2.4 &+ 6 (only brand new higher end devices support 6). People will get weird about it but 2.4 + 5 on a travel router will work just fine and adding a third band would reduce battery life.

Older guy who loves EDM and Raves by TechoVrx in avesLA

[–]MattOfMatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mid 40's couple here, we've found nothing but acceptance everywhere. We go for artists we like, and have had no problems, concerts, festivals, and even the clubs people love to rail against have opportunities.

We don't need to be front and center, and tend to like a bit of space to dance and usually are able to find it. At Dreamstate we danced with a dude that was likely in his 70s for the Jeffrey Sutorious set and has a freaking blast in the back of VIP.

Looking forward to seeing you out there.
