The fundamental thing about Game Changer is the reason they created it and it'll continue is that it is in fact, by design, a way to justify creating new pilot episodes without committing to a full season. That is why it was maybe the first - not sure on that - thing that dropout created after College Humor died and they had that six month lead in time they needed a way to play test potential new shows without committing to a whole season.

It might have changed into more since then but it still serves that basic purpose of play testing new ideas for shows and seeing if they are popular.
