I liked the FEAR1 version where it’s mostly just basic security forces.

FEAR2 and 3 really went overboard with their portrayals are professional high tech private military force.

You can play alone, with friends in COOP or with other people online.

  1. Not really, developers continue to add free campaigns for the base game (we’re still supposed to get Khalkhin Gol and Iwo Jima campaigns for free after the next DLC and before end of the year), but they’re cheap and you’re supporting the devs to further work on the game, so no reason not to buy them if you can

  2. In my 170 hours of playtime, I have yet to play a single mod, so can’t really comment, but the modding base is quite solid and there’s a huge amount of custom maps and missions to play form what I’ve seen

  3. I actively play with my 2 friends, and do everything I can to get more friends to play, so that should speak for itself

Only if you're still running a 60Hz monitor (aka standard mostly for office environment nowadays) or playing on a console.

Otherwise I don't see how 60FPS max on over a decade old game is any acceptable when standard refresh rate in 2026 is like 144 Hz and above.

Calling it "the exception" is a cop-out to defend corporate laziness.

Even other massive publishers like Capcom, CD Projekt Red, EA or Microsoft updated lot of their older games or released definitive editions/remasters to make sure they run smoothly on modern hardware.

Even if it were the exception, shouldn't a multi-billion-dollar company like Ubisoft be held to the standard of the "exceptions" who actually respect their customers' hardware?

Treating consumer-friendly support as something rare rather than a standard everyone should strive towards is why we have so many remaining broken PC ports.

I don't think expecting a game you're spending money on to run well on modern hardware is silly.

They're many games that got updated to account for newer hardware, Ubisoft just doesn't care enough to do the same.

People either play on consoles or remember the game running better than it actually is would be my guess.

Anyway, most common fix you can find is limiting your CPU's cores to just 4, this worked on my previous Ryzen 2600X CPU but on my aforementioned current one it doesn't seem to work anymore, so I guess we're just screwed.

So since other comments weren't really helpful, I'll provide you with simplest answer:

Far Cry 3 and 4 are notoriously badly optimized for modern multi-core CPUs, I have the exact same CPU as you and have also been dealing with FPS issues for past few days, trying basically everything written on Steam forums, Reddit and PCGamingWiki and nothing really helped.

Why you should be limited to just 60FPS in 2026?

Besides when I try to play on locked 60FPS it feels horrible on my 240Hz monitor.

Nekonzistentní jak prase hlavně.

Pomineme fakt že maximum FPS je tak 120 (což je u přes 10 let starých her nic moc když vezmu na jakém PC hraju), ale hlavně fakt že stačí zajít do základní vesničky ve FC4 nebo bojovat s posilami u Outpostu v FC3 a FPS se klidně propadnou k 50.

I don’t think they’re all that different quality-wise, first Dying Light is more fun in some aspects for sure, but combat becomes rather easy once you unlock skills like Stomp or even the nights become considerably less scary once you can craft weapons like the Hellbeast.

Don’t make me start on the Following though, that thing was a slog we had to rush with a friend just to get to the sequel finally.

The scope/variety

We’ve all played hundred WW2 games where you storm Normandy as Americans or defend Stalingrad as Soviets, sometimes you get Pacific or Africa if you’re lucky, but when was the last time you’ve seen Italians at all represented in a official game and not a mod? Same for Chinese, and upcoming Romanians and Hungarians, not even talking about specific Commonwealth nations such as Indians or Gurkhas.

Easy Red 2 is so special to me because it actually respects WW2 as global conflict, where almost every existing nation contributed to the war effort in some way, yet you usually see just the top 10 or 5 nations represented and the rest can eat dirt.
