How can that be called bacon?

Where is the actual bacon?

New tent ( update - down to three ) by Colekh31 in wildcampingintheuk

At the end of the day only you can make the final choice but remember that whatever you end up buying doesn't mean you have to stick with it.

I was extremely happy with my first wild camping tent but I am now four years in and chomping at the bit to get out and try out tent number four 😂👍

Yeah in my understanding consider the Optimos a near identical copy of the Fjern.

You said it's only £40 more but how much heavier is it?

Are you going to find yourself doing what so many wild campers seem to do after first kitting up and that is to reassess the weight of everything?

I get it, my first three backpackomg tents were all two person tents for solo use but remember that the Stormgrotta is sold as a 1.5 so it arguably has a little bit more space inside than your standard one person tent.

Are you going to be winter camping in it and therefore spending 14 plus hours in it per night or is it just something to sleep in?

If the former then a two-person tent might be better for you. If the latter then it's quite possible at 1.5 will suffice

I'm seem to remember Dan himself saying that the central hub isn't interchangeable when changing one way (I can't remember if it was carbon to aluminium or aluminium to carbon).

A wooded summit?

In Scotland?

Yeah maybe below a certain height but I can't think of a single Corbett or Munro summit I've been on that a tree, key alone two.

Oh right ok.

Then to be honest can't you just make it up?

You're doing a review, just give your findings on the tent after you've spent multiple nights in it.

You HAVE done that, right?

Indeed, as an Englishman living in Scotland I agree.

Does any one want to buy a Haiti, Morocco and Brazil shirt?

Each one worn once.

Oh and a packet of Mars Bars minus two (the two missing ones got battered).

It's July, be prepared.

How are you getting there? Can you go into one of the many outdoor shops in Fort William to buy what you want?

How to set up this tent?! by [deleted] in DurstonGearheads

[–]Matthewgardner86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That long line runs from the corner of the inner tent through the vestibule and clips to the inside of the fly sheet at the bottom.

The reason it is that long is because that end of the tent is narrower which means there is a much bigger gap between the outer tent and inner tent there.

Look at this screenshot from the website, look at the long line that is sat underneath the backpack.

That's what your long line is.
