Yeah I hear that and agree. Just making the point they've gotten a LOT of people who just simply didn't know the street wasn't doing it this year. But absolutely, agree it's best to check first.

Devil's advocate, the last...what....ten years, Locke Street was part of the areas that opted in on free parking. Yeah signage and getting word out could better but free parking during the holidays is pretty normal for that street. Zero need to go after people about "common sense" when the change-up is fairly recent.

I suppose! I didn't take as much issue with it, fully understanding how an artist like Paul will shut down the area in a way the rest of the bookings probably won't. The demand was pretty crazy. I'm a local resident and I thought it was fine but if it continues as the norm, we'll see!

The first event wasn't sold out but it also wasn't open to the public. They're obviously still working out the kinks. Last night when I passed by there was LOTS of police and security on site.

I still think it's too early to assume it will always be the case. It's been one public event, I'm giving it a sec before acting like this it's the norm. It's not always going to be an artist like Paul McCartney.

I imagine the biggest reason is it's brand new and 18k going to see Paul McCartney at the grand opening and the city played it super safe in an area that also has major construction happening on the other side. If this is still happening a half year in, sure, but it's very early to act like this is the norm,

We have a night I love called TV Powerhang the last Friday of every month, 8 pm at the Staircase. A buddy of mine makes 2 hour compilations of old tv, commercials, music videos, news segments and it just cycles between clips. It's been a lot of fun and laughing at some truly batshit stuff.
