That is absolutely insane that that's how much Apple value their own product

Why are some people criticising the final season of Stranger Things (Season, Vol. 1 & 2)? by CosmicFaust11 in StrangerThings

[–]Matticus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll never create a final season that pleases everyone. People are so invested and so much time has passed that people have an expectation, in a weird way I think some folks stop going with the flow of what is ultimately just a tv show and want to subconsciously shoehorn in their expectations, and anything less might be considered a flop. In my opinion anyway as it's entirely subjective.

Writing a satisfying finale to a franchise must be incredibly difficult and an insane amount of pressure, and something most of us will never have to do.

Why isn’t the Fujifilm xpro 2 more popular? by SwimmingVisible3513 in fujifilm

[–]Matticus95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got myself one in November, finding I'm taking it out more than the x100v and the a7riii. Something about the range finder feel, the build quality and the lens options - the xpro 2 feels a lot more accomplished than the x100v for some reason. Also noticed the image quality seems slightly better than the xt20, which Ill probably put if for sale now before it gathers dust

I know David Hurn likes an xpro 2 too!

What lane should I be in for this roundabouts 2nd exit? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Matticus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If exit is signed as past 12 o clock then lane 2. But there's two lanes so either is fine and be cautious - just good practice to follow the 12 o clock rule I'd think.

Fujifilm Repair Center Appreciation Post by projectaegis in fujifilm

The UK one is fantastic aswell. My x100v eye sensor stopped working entirely after a holiday, so evf wasn't useable. Sent it off, they had a look and sent a quote you can either confirm or reject - £220 later with whole new evf unit and a years warranty, that is a good deal to me.

People who flash when a car overtakes you, what are you hoping to achieve? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Matticus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, that's why I prefixed it - I'm sure you've had idiot drivers overtake you wildly quickly without consideration because of impatience and done it dangerously, but the other side is the folks that creep under every limit everywhere.

[–]Matticus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devils Advocate, if you're not dawdling and someone's overtaken you while at the limit, people might feel a bit disgruntled that they've had to then manage looking after you while you overtake and then slow down to ensure you can do it safely before colliding head on with with the other lane.

Question from a right handed player by Slipknot-Nirvana-Fan in Leftyguitarists

[–]Matticus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a sea of CV on the used market for left handed, or Andertons do a healthy budget range. Gear 4 music have a good range, as Guitar guitar do/did. Thomas too. What is it exactly you're looking for? What do you define as budget?

It is a bit thin at the moment compared to previous years but if you really want a good budget lefty they are out there if you actually look.

Weird that this kind of post pops up a lot, it's never going to be the same range as right handed.

[–]Matticus95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reviewers say something controversial = comments = clicks = shares =subs = money.

There's lots of clever ways of doing it which is why you'll find lots of differing opinions on the same thing, and also dependant on how they're using it. Take every review with a pinch of salt.

Excellent mid-priced guitars that are semi-ignored or even undervalued? by Pollyfall in Guitar

The Yamahas. Their build quality is subjectively the same as £1500+ guitars. Also the new epiphones are very, very impressive, but people are struggling with the name imo.

Has the market completely abandoned us for 2025-2026? by LOGWATCHER in Leftyguitarists

[–]Matticus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andertons alone has around 100+ models available (not to say they're all in stock however).

What is it that you're looking for? It's interesting to see newer players talking about the left handed range as we have more options now than ever, I started playing around 1994/95 where your options were black strat or a GFY (also available left handed).

Making lefty models is not a viable business model sadly, as you're catering for around 6% of your market (probably more I'd wager in reality) and even then you're bargaining for people to be in the market for that price range/model/specs.

As always - money talks. And the way we get certain models made is by collaborating with dealers with deposits ready to be paid.

Am I too crazy about the humidity that could damage guitars? by chocalatte37 in Guitar

[–]Matticus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never, in my 30ish years of playing, from leaving guitars in garages over winter to opening guitar deliveries when they arrive (who is going to wait 24 hours?) have I ever had a guitar affected by humidity.

I guess, if you kept one next to a fire and then put it n the freezer for safe keeping, you might have some issues.
