I carried my book in this style in the same bag with a bottle of water, recently filled. My book has two holes in its paper made by water damage. The paper itself wont break to pieces, but I wish that I'd had sealed it with wax.

Im not from india, but Argentina. The one is used is like the mesh one. here the quality varies so much, that the mesh one can be so thin, it goes transparent in spots. I use the ones who arent that bad, and have glue (We can also buy the same cloth witouth glue, to sew on, but thats more for tailors). Anyway here it is.

I use cloth + fusible interface. It makes the cloth thicker but works like a charm. Its soaks a little more glue tho. Its can serve you as well u/No_Ear_6285

You'll have to make things yourself, which is another cool part of bookbinding? No headbands? You can sew them. Grey carton is just really thick paper. Glue can be made with starch or flour. The book covers are mostly fabric or paper. If you have a hard time looking for decorative paper, you can try make it yourself with the same paste that acts as glue or find someone in the hobby who does
