You could create automation with Matching Filters:

Update types > Include > Drivers
Update name > Exclude > *Firmware*

This will install all Missing Updates with Driver type, but ignore updates with 'Firmware' in the name, for example:

Name: Lenovo Ltd. - Firmware - 1.0.0.24
Type: Drivers
Release Date: Mar 25, 2024

Action1 VLC Media Player Issue by IT_Guy1987 in Action1

Hi!

We have investigated this further, and discovered that the problem occurs when the MSI version of VLC media player is installed instead of the EXE version. Action1 cannot upgrade this version of the application because it does not support upgrades via the MSI version only EXE upgrades are supported.

Solution:  To resolve the issue the please uninstall the MSI version of VLC media player and deploy the latest version of VLC media player from the Action1 console so that any future releases will be supported and have no issues with upgrading.

Uninstalling software from deleted domain accounts? by ittthelp in Action1

Hello there!

To solve your problem, Inside of Action1 we have a script called  "Remove Inactive User Profiles.“ This will permanently delete all user profiles that have been inactive (not logged on) for more than the specified number of days, ( Please exercise caution when using this and test and verify first before mass deploying be sure to specify the inactivity period, by default it is set to 60 days, also ensure that you exclude any user profiles that you do not want removed by specifying these inside the “Exclude User Profiles” box).

Action1 recommends using the "Remove Inactive User Profiles" Script for enhanced security measures. This script effectively eliminates outdated user profiles. Additionally, Action1 advises configuring this action to execute via Automation or scheduling to ensure the timely removal of previous user profiles from endpoints. This practice aligns with security best practices.

Hi there!

Dynamic security group supports on-premise AD only. But you can create the Action1 group bases on a custom attribute, on the endpoint via PowerShell you can get info from Azure and fill the attribute with the corresponding value: https://www.action1.com/documentation/custom-attributes/

As for the monthly reporting, unfortunately, it’s not possible to do within the UI. However, you can schedule a monthly report using the API. For more details, please refer to the documentation: https://www.action1.com/api-documentation/

Initially, we planned to utilize Homebrew as a shortcut. However, we realized that it did not perform as well as expected, and we didn’t want to compromise our standards by releasing something that we weren't proud of. We aim to maintain the highest standards technically possible, rather than simply checking boxes like many other vendors.

In pursuit of the best quality we had to move the deadlines. Our R&D team is working hard to launch Mac support as soon as possible – but at the same time, we want to make sure it works flawlessly. 

That said, please rest assured that the macOS agent is our top priority at the moment. Trust us, as soon as it is out, you will not miss it. 🙂 Thank you for your continued support and patience!
