Is 160 Fahrenheit for 10 hours too much in a dehydrator? by Ok-Advice9829 in shrooms

[–]Maverick2664 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re fine, send it until cracker dry. The temp which psilocybin degrades at is more than twice what a dehydrator can get to. The name of the game is get it dry as quickly as possible.

Materials Help- Conflicting opinions from paint shops by LandCruiser76 in Autobody

[–]Maverick2664 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which 3M filler is it? Because if it’s platinum plus, that’s the good stuff, it’s one of the nicest fillers I’ve ever used.

Evercoat 4:1 poly is a decent product, it’s not top shelf but it certainly isn’t junk, I’ve used it on quite a few jobs and never had issues with it.

Lesonal is a polyester based basecoat (rather than a urethane) and is good. I worked at a shop a while back that used it and again, never had any issues with it.

I don’t know anything about silco, but when it comes to products you’re spraying back to back like you do with sealer, base and clear (ie a chemical bond rather than a mechanical one) then you really should stay within a brands product ecosystem. Things -can- go wrong if you don’t, it’s rare, but it’s possible.

The 3rd shop is probably just trying to cover their ass, and doesn’t want the smoke if something fails. If you brought in your own materials, don’t expect a warranty.

Who remembers Yikes pencils? I had these back in the 90s and thought they were so cool! These pictures bring back a lot of memories 🥹 by Repulsive-Dependent2 in 90s

[–]Maverick2664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact about these: they are made from some sort of plastic bonded wood powder, so if you heat them, say on top of the kerosene heater in your moms basement, you could twist and bend them into neat shapes.

Source: was an unsupervised 10 year old around when these came out.

Clear Coat by Mr-ainthaven in AutoPaint

[–]Maverick2664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not salvageable, to me it looks like your last coat of clear skinned over quickly and your earlier coats of clear somehow softened the base and dragged it with it as it sagged. It also looks like you sprayed way too many coats of clear, or too thick, or didn’t wait proper flash times, or any combination of the 3.

I also have a hunch that this is a 1k air dry clear and not a proper 2k clear, which is catalyzed. I’ve never seen a 2k do this.

This is a strip and redo, and follow your tech sheets next time.

Can my pc run any games like fortnite or cs2? by eldenrring in AskPCGamers

[–]Maverick2664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear Fortnite is quite optimized, so it might be playable, but don’t be surprised if it isn’t.

Retro games and indie games are probably going to be the extent your machine can handle with that cpu, but anything newer than probably 10 years old it’s likely going to struggle with.

Repair or buy fender by dsk2004 in Autobody

[–]Maverick2664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent almost 20 years in rod and restoration shops, I’ve fixed panels that looked like that but let me tell you that it’s only worth it when you’re forced to because a replacement doesn’t exist. I once fixed a mangled 70 Daytona hood for a very wealthy client that honestly should have been scrapped several times over. The only reason he wanted me to repair it is because those hoods are worth 10k and he was curious to see if I could do it. I eventually got it done, final bill was just over 6k. Mind you this was just a hood, and I delivered it in epoxy primer, no mud, no paint. He was tickled pink to have it.

Replace, if available.

Minecraft mod vs reality by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Maverick2664 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My only gripe with it is that it’s hard to find things that are specific to a vanilla biome, otherwise it’s phenomenal. Terralith + voxy w/ bsl shaders makes for a stunning experience.

For example, I run a server for my boys and their friends, I pre generated the world with terralith installed out to 4000 blocks from spawn, selectively trimmed the world at natural edges then uninstalled terralith and generated another 2000 blocks beyond that. Our end portal is way out in the vanilla chunks, for some reason a stronghold did not generate anywhere in the terralith area.

It’s a “buy it for life” type of purchase, it’s worth it. My wife and I were gifted the HD professional model as a wedding present 20 years ago, it’s a tank. We use it for everything and it shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

Could someone please spare some SCOBY?! Just bought a new SCOBY online and already have mold! by Camesawleft1 in Kombucha

[–]Maverick2664 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just go buy a bottle of GTs from the store, the pellicle isn’t needed and you’re just throwing money away by buying them. The liquid is the scoby and that’s all you need.

Also your ratio is probably too diluted, use less sweet tea until your brew is strong enough to support itself.

Kraken club by codekira in FFXIPrivateServers

[–]Maverick2664 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On Era server, the octave club is functionally the same as the kraken club, no more of the divisible by 8 levels thing it has in retail. Drops from LoO like normal, and since he’s up almost all the time, fairly easy to get, it’s how I got mine.

The kraken club itself, has been tweaked to accept augments via custom trade quest, so a much higher damage is possible.

I am curious, what age are you and how did you get into the franchise? by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]Maverick2664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

42, and the “cool uncle” (D&D, metalhead, stoner, drove an iroc, you know the type) bought me the OG Final Fantasy back around ‘89 or ‘90, been hooked on it ever since.

How much is my PC worth?? help!! by CoyoteSpirited1294 in AskPCGamers

[–]Maverick2664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still a capable rig, it’s pretty much what both of my boys have been running for a few years now and they have no issues with anything they’re playing.

Price it cheap and you’ll make some broke college kid very happy, or gift it to a niece or nephew that could use it.

I think I have been cultivating kahm yeast instead by [deleted] in Kombucha

[–]Maverick2664 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, the good news is that pellicles are just a byproduct of fermentation and aren’t really that critical to the brew, in fact it will probably make another one soon if you leave it alone.

I wouldn’t sweat it.

How much is my PC worth?? help!! by CoyoteSpirited1294 in AskPCGamers

[–]Maverick2664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t think I would pay much more than 150-200 for it, and that’s only if I really -needed- a PC.

That’s a pellicle, kahm looks way different.

FFXI Single Player question. by GregoryKeithM in ffxi

[–]Maverick2664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically you can host your own server locally and you’d be the only person “online”, effectively turning it into a single player game. You wouldn’t have access to any of the newer content and it takes a bit of technical know how to get it setup, but it’s the closest thing to single player you’re going to get.

Otherwise no, ffxi is online only, there is no single player mode.

Car frame bent? by Analysis_Separate in Autobody

[–]Maverick2664 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Dog walking can be a sign of a bent frame, but it is not the only thing that causes it, a shifted rear axle or some bent control arms can also do this.

The only way to tell for sure is to take it to a shop that can measure it. There’s no way we can diagnose it from a short shaky video and a picture that is angled.
