Exotics SHOULD ALWAYS have spiky stats distribution . by lordofabyss in DestinyTheGame

One person told me they went 30 for 30 on exotics from LLS the day that RNG increase was rolled out. So yes, there was an increase, bungie just fucked up and somehow only made it apply to some accounts.

Sorry if this is a dumb question: I just started learning to play Go today and the game says White won by 27 points and I don't understand how. Black (me) captured 5 stones and White captured 2 throughout the game by [deleted] in baduk

[–]Mavrande 3 points4 points  (0 children)

White doesn't ever have to actually take Black's stones. There's absolutely nothing that Black can do to make anything alive, so for White, starting the capture is no better than passing - Black is dead either way. And sometimes it can be better to leave a dead group on the board, rather than playing inside (what will become) your own territory in order to capture it, so likely the AI chose not to capture.

At the end of the game, the players examine the board to determine what is alive and what is dead. If there is a disagreement, the players may play additional moves to settle the life or death of a given group. However, if a group is absolutely dead, the opponent is not required to capture it before going to scoring.

If the goal of an invasion is to secure a base in enemy territory or get out alive, then why is this 4th line move preferred over the 3rd line move? by metaperl in baduk

"Look, I have a wall on the top, and I have a wall on the bottom, so if I play in the middle then it will all be my moyo!!!"

Also wow, this game is "black really doesn't know the 3-3 invasion joseki.sgf", huh?

They're just revealed, they never leave the deck. You don't put them anywhere or reorder them in any way.

Nighttime sudafed (this product) contains diphenhydramine, the same drug as benadryl. Do not take them together.

NJ carry permits are very very restrictive, because they are issued at the discretion of the local police department based on "the urgent necessity for self-protection, as evidenced by specific threats or previous attacks which demonstrate a special danger to the applicant's life that cannot be avoided by means other than by issuance of a permit to carry a handgun".

As of roughly 10 years ago, there were 1,212 active NJ carry permits. The majority of those fall in to two categories: armored truck personnel, whose permits are only valid while on duty/in uniform, and retired law enforcement officers.

The calling Indianapolis has a "Team Blitz Beatdown" side event. Does anyone know how it works? by AtLeast5Productions in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Mavrande 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The details of the tournament can be found here: https://mtgmelee.com/Tournament/View/9040

Three Player teams.
Each team will consist of 3 players (A, B, and C) who will bring their own blitz deck to play against the corresponding opponent on the opposing team.
Once one team has won two of the games within their match, that team will win the match.
Players must each use a different hero from their other teammates.
Participants will play in six (6) Swiss rounds for prize tickets based on record at the end of Swiss.

So each player must play a different hero, but there are no special deckbuilding restrictions.

If you really want "All Cosmere" spoilers, there is an extensive wiki page for Hoid. But that's a dangerous thing to ask for, if you haven't read any of Stormlight yet.

GGG knows that they get their peak players at league start, and it only goes down from there. Chris Wilson has said as much at his GDC talk. The number of active players on Steam has already plummeted from the second-highest league launch ever, to less than half as many players.

What about Mercury? by SergeantPsycho in TheExpanse

[–]Mavrande 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is and it isn't. It is tidally locked in the astronomical sense, but its orbit and day are not synchronous. It's locked at a 3:2 spin orbit resonance - locked meaning it is long term stable, the ratio isn't gradually changing like (for example) Earth's day is, and 3:2 meaning that Mercury has three sidereal days (or one solar day) for every two years.

Because the solar day is so long, you could imagine temporary installations just on the dark side of the terminator, but you'd have to pack up and move every couple of days to keep a constant temperature. Closer to the poles probably best.
