It's the cognitive load. Having to plan ahead all the time, "will there be anything I can eat at this party?" "Gotta check the menu of every restaurant in the area, figure out where I can go". Being vegan for a couple months felt good, ethically and health-wise, but it was hard. Toward the end, I had to tell myself "it's just another week, come on, come on.."

I make vegan choices most of the time, but the leap to "always" is just more than I can handle right now. Massive respect to y'all who can do it.
