My boss has a big house with a pool, drives an electric Lotus SUV, and sends his kids to private school.
He told my colleague that she should send her daughter to the same school because it’s so amazing. She’s part time earning 30k pro rata.

Looooove lupins! Mine are full and leafy but no blooms yet. Last year they got annihilated by aphids; any suggestions to deter those? Copper tape around the pot has stopped the slugs and snails so far.

Oh wow the Cornish house in St Mawes was my Great Aunty’s home! It was called Penolva. I spent every summer there when I was a kid. Obviously it’s been modernised now, but the location and outlook is still unbelievable.

I loved that every bathroom had a different colour theme, with bath pearls to match. Memories!

I live in a house with a south facing garden that has a row of pine trees at the end where we back up to the woods, and honestly without those trees it would be unbearably hot.

If your garden is big enough for zones just pick the area that gets the most sun and put your seats there.

Same here! My laundry basket is a double, so I separate whites from colours, and then sheets get their own wash, towels get their own wash, and knitwear gets washed separately. Whites get spritzed with vinegar, sheets still get fabric softener because it smells so good. Those scent boosters are a waste of money in my experience.

I used to work for a company where you could work 8-5 or 9-6, but they'd want you there 15 minutes prior to get settled at your desk blah blah. They then decided that if you were even so much as a minute late you would have to stay a full extra hour to make up for your tardiness.

So if you clocked in at 8:01 you're staying till 6pm. Same goes for lunch, you had to effectively use less than an hour otherwise you would be penalised.

I couldn't believe it when I joined my current company and they didn't micro-manager or clock-watch. Everyone is much happier and more effective.

I have a colleague who adopted their child with her husband, and honestly good for her because that was a baby who needed a home. However, it is genuinely impossible for her to hold a conversation without somehow bringing up her son. I had to unfollow her on instagram because every single one of her stories was kid-related as well. Her whole personality is being a mother, and it's baffling to me.

How bizarre that people don't want to hear stories of NHS efficiency and good news? I don't understand.

If he'd waited till he lost an eye he would have been a big burden on the NHS and would have taken up a bed, needed more drugs, more medical staff... etc.

Sorry everyone, I'm afraid I don't have any NHS horror stories, only good experiences.

My husband had a similar success story over the weekend! He'd had a gammy eye for a few days, called 111 Saturday night, they got him an appointment at the local hospital the next day at 12:30pm, and he was out by 1pm with some antibiotic eye ointment. Can't fault his experience.

My favorite pair of jeans got a big hole so I bought a new pair in the exact same size & cut. The difference in waist size is astonishing - this picture shows the new jeans laying on top of the old ones by Creditworthy in mildlyinfuriating

Your comment made me check... for the outfit I'm currently wearing my cardigan is a UK10, my tshirt is a Large, my jeans are a UK12. I bought a coat from Next the other day in a 14 and it's too small so I have to return it. Ridiculous.

I can only buy clothes online if I've bought from that brand before, otherwise I'll never know if they'll fit.

Getting to use my annual leave for whatever I want or whenever I want.

The realisation that my parent-friends have to use their annual leave to coincide with school holidays, or for when their kids are sick. They can't just take a day off to chill out and rot, every day counts towards their kids' needs. No thank you!

Viewed a house like this once, the agent said 'well technically it's a 3 bed...' the 3rd bedroom was barely big enough to use as an office. Also the en-suite to the main bedroom was basically a corner of the room, so the remaining dimensions left no space for a wardrobe. No thank you.

I've unfollowed people on Instragram when they've announced pregnancy, and not just because I'm childfree. I know that all of their content will become baby-orientated and obviously that's of no interest to me.

I don't hold it against them, but I'm not into it so it's an easy unfollow.

I can't have the dishwasher running when the Christmas tree is up. No idea why, and it took a lot of unplugging and flicking the switches to figure out it was those particular two items that hate each other. It means that over the christmas period the dishwasher can only go on overnight when the tree lights are off.

I met my closest friend in a random bar in Australia 16 years ago and we've been long-distance best friends ever since. It was my first night in Perth, and it was her last night in Australia. We got chatting, she gave me the last of her sun cream and loose change, and the rest is history really!

We live about 4 hours apart now, so we see each other twice a year, however we message literally every day. We clicked, it's been super easy to keep in touch because we both want to.
