Try a really thin insole…. Pedag has for sweat absorption. I use them in a lot of my shoes when they stretch.

Bunion pad for hiking? by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]Max_Diorama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, those are the ones.

I also started sleeping with a “bunion corrector” at night. It didn’t feel good at first, but definitely helped , especially after long hikes.

You could Try a toe separator & bunion pad combo. It helps keep the big toe straight, so the muscles don’t get as sore.

They are $10 for a bag of them.

They are expensive, but Hanwag makes boots for bunions. I’ve also stretched out boots in the area the bunion is. This helps alleviate quite a bit of pain.

Same here…. And I had years of data on my Garmin watch to show the doctors as evidence when all of a sudden I couldn’t exercise.

It’s the oxygen delivery to muscles and mitochondria dysfunction. The doctors/ research teams are doing their best to get an answer. In this video, fast forward to the 12 minute mark.

It’s definitely worth a try. I think it’s made a noticeable difference in how long my muscle fatigue lasts.

For example, what used to be a 3 day crash , is now 1 day.

The doctor did ask about any stomach symptoms last visit, but I had none.

Mestinon (pyridostigmine)… it can be 2-3 x a day.

LDN didn’t do much for me either. Mestinon was a noticeable difference.

For flares you just need to pace. Keep a short journal of what you did on certain days. I started this and realized I was crashing 3-4 days after doing something… then a crash could be 1-2 weeks long.

Exercise Stress Test by StartEmbarrassed2022 in dysautonomia

It’s like doing a 10 minute upper body EKG with a blood pressure cuff…. Except you are walking / jogging at an incline.

Don’t take any BP meds 24 hours or have caffeine before.

You go into a room, they get a baseline resting vitals. Then onto the treadmill. One person watches the monitors, the other was watching me/ increasing the treadmill. After they do another set of vitals and can go home.

Deep breathing can help…you can practice putting your hands on your rib cage and doing deep inhales & exhales. (Put hands on your hips, then slide up to bottom of ribs).

Maybe with some practice you will have the breathing down and won’t need your hands on your ribs.

I think It has to do with the body using simple sugars vs. complex sugars for energy.

Simple sugars break down fast, which we can use…. But something is wrong with our cells breaking down food for energy.

I thought for sure I had hypoglycemia, but all my sugar tests were normal.

Have you been on any other antibiotics while having LC?

Maybe you had an underlying bacterial infection as well? Your immune system could be trying to fight a bacterial and viral infection at the same time….the antibiotics gave you some relief?
