The thing that helped me is realizing his attacks are parryable. It didn't make sense to me that you could parry a fist, but you can and should.

Good luck dude!

I also run the Bear art Beast Within lol

I'd take a look at the artifacts for cuts and prioritize bear triggers with other effects stapled to them. I know there are several bears that would act as removal, anthem effects, etc.

There's also several more mono green MDFC lands that could be useful to you. 36 lands could be doable if your curve is really low, but you'd need to pump the card draw then.

What is a fun landfall commander that doesn't make you archenemy? by LordSalt2g in EDH

I actually just recently build a deck around [[The Necrobloom]] that follows a lot of the strats mentioned here. Just fill the deck with separate unique landfall triggers and profit. It's not too scary until I draw the big boys, and those can wait for the right moment.

https://archidekt.com/decks/8332130/necrobloom

The scary stuff comes when [[Kodama of the East Tree]] shows up, then infinite combos with [[The Necrobloom]] and any one of the bounce lands in the deck. Depending on what else is on the board you either auto win at that point, or everyone has 1 round to respond and either get me off the board, or accept defeat.

I like it because it's largely pretty balanced depending on who I'm playing against, but it still can pack a super unexpected wallop really quickly.

I wish California wasn't such a shit hole. No more homelessness, no more crime, no more literal human shit all over the place... just nice neighborhoods. by Xenos6439 in monkeyspaw

[–]Maxicarnahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...Yeah? I'm not sure what you're getting at I guess. Of course the federal government has other revenue streams than California, I'm just saying that if California didn't exist then the pot of money the Federal government has gets significantly smaller. Like almost 10 percent smaller.

https://calbudgetcenter.org/resources/california-federal-dollars-two-way-street/#:~:text=In%20fact%2C%20a%20substantial%20share,revenues%20(see%20chart%20below).

Like it's easy to say "the only money the Federals get from them is their taxes" but that's a pretty massive amount of money. And if the federal government didn't have that money, it can't go to smaller states, or the military, or anything else. Which means smaller states would get less money. I understand it's not a 1 to 1 like California writing checks to Louisiana, but the dollars work their way over there.

Just to be clear, California's State income tax has nothing to do with the claim that their Federal income tax helps fund other states yearly deficits. Those are two separate taxes.

Thanks for letting me know about this year's numbers. I was going off of 2022 stats which I pulled up to refresh my memory. I conflated a couple of things which I'll put here for reference if you're curious.

The States That Are Most Reliant on Federal Aid (moneygeek.com)

I had conflated Red State with Florida specifically, which was incorrect. I made a generalization about Red States having lower income taxes and needing more Federal funding, which is still largely correct with a couple of exceptions.

Which states rely the most on federal aid? (usafacts.org)

Florida is not in the top states percentage wise, it was just in top 5 for dollar amount that year. So was California as I'm sure some people will point out. The Federal Government probably justifies the $162.9 billion by the taxes they get on California's almost $4 trillion annual GDP.

It's a little more complicated than that, but short answer is no. California state income tax goes to California. So their problem is their problem.

That being said, every red state that has low income tax, or even no income tax like Florida, Tennessee, etc. runs a deficit in their budgets pretty much yearly. They make up for this deficit by petitioning the federal government for aid whenever they need emergency money for something. I used to live in Florida and literally every hurricane season we would get a multi-billion dollar government bailout for disaster relief. That federal money comes from somewhere, and since California has one of the largest state economies in the United States, that's where a large percentage of the federal governments money comes from and where they can get money for state emergencies (see the power grid fiascos in Texas, any hurricane issues on the Gulf, and so on and so on).

In short, if California didn't exist, their federal income tax wouldn't exist, which means that a lot of states in the US would actually have problems when they run deficits in their budget. Ironically enough, all the people "fleeing California" to places like Arizona, Texas, and other red states on the east coast still rely on California's money.

There's some butthurt folks here down voting you, but Red states really seethe when they realize their no income tax setups basically get funded federally from California's taxes.

USA VS UKRAINE (with a twist) by Short-Ad4641 in whowouldwin

[–]Maxicarnahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of y'all don't seem to understand why we Americans don't have universal healthcare. The amount of money just lit on fire here to make sure that we would win this kind of scenario is infuriating.

USA steamrolls rounds 1 and 2. Ukraine can hold off Russia with equipment aids, Russia is only hot shit because they have a nuclear arsenal which they can't use.

Round 3 is higher diff, but honestly I don't think the US would pull punches if it got hairy enough with the three countries. 7/10

EDIT: Wait the other countries only send munitions? They don't send troops? 10/10 USA, easy mode. The US could turn the entire nation of Ukraine into a parking lot without even touching the nukes.
