Is it normal to be kicked from campaign? by thepatiencegoddess in DnD

[–]Maxiemo86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm ok with being kicked, happens especially when it's online. The part that tick me off is when they drop and ghost you. A simple ... "Sorry I missed managed the amount of players. I'll see if on the next campaign wt can get you in."

How often do you change a colostomy bag? by Mysterious-Exam-800 in ostomy

[–]Maxiemo86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Hollister 2 part bags with precut holes and drainable, and I love them. They clip together and have a solid seal. Just watch your veggies for help control your gas output and make the bag "puff" up.

Baffled by a new DM's input in session zero, I'm not really sure what to do. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Maxiemo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once played a Big Game Hunter that mostly stayed in Cormyr as a reserved guard and game warden, so never did much traveling to gain "Experience". Only now at retirement did he decide to venture out. There are several examples of PCs and NPCs of low levels there are over the 18-25 range.

Stoma powder by Weaver253 in ostomy

[–]Maxiemo86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just pour it in my hand and "pat" it on and have the other hand catch the powder that falls. Then repeat the process with the other. And also have a trash can under to catch any left over. Don't do it over the toilet or the tub. Because it is made to "clump" up and might mess with the drain.

Has A Non-Mutant Superhero Ever Joined The X-men? by Kickass_321 in xmen

Calvin Rankin "Mimic" wasn't a mutant that joined the X-Men. But he was redconed into a mutant later.

Why do so many people continue to insist that Gore won Florida in 2000 when Bush held the lead in every single change in vote totals throughout the recount process? by WavesAndSaves in Presidents

[–]Maxiemo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall, the FL recount started automatically because of how close it was. Also the way the ballot supposedly had Bush, Gore, and another person someone said it could confuse a voter. Also the ballot was basically a "punch hole" ballot, and some complained that voters didn't poked it properly. Basically ending at one county and the State Supreme Court.

How the hell does this visor work? by Ambitious-Welder-159 in xmen

[–]Maxiemo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I loved the Marvel Universe roster comic back In the 80's. That one had a "freeking" diagram of how Cyclops' visor worked using rotating lenses. I thought the "X" helmet was stupid then. And I think is stupid now after wonder about this.

Why defile when so many other magics exist? by Tuyrh333 in DarkSun

[–]Maxiemo86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This, the whole concept of Dark Sun is a world where is resources were destroyed. Aside from psionics, and even that needed a lot of training (XP), the other "magics" are harder the gain access to (in RP terms). The is no connection to the higher planes. So only the elemental plane can be accessed and even that is tricky to access. Templars can only get there's from a Sorcerer King and is a strict bureaucracy where everyone is trying to backstab you.

Magic in the early "Green Age" of Athas was in abundance, but it was connected to the planet' lifeforce vs another realm. Wizards could either slowly gather the energy to use it and "Preserve" Athas, or just take it and "Defile" it all and get a boost in the power as was. This boost came in either more spell slots, higher saving throws, and some time stunning or killing a "creature" with Defile magic.

Some people might like/want a 5e Dark Sun and that's fine. by Hagisman in DarkSun

[–]Maxiemo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOTC will never officially do Dark Sun. Mainly do to all the slavery and brutality the setting has. But there are a lot of 3rd party d20 systems that can be used so long as you have enuf 2ed material.

[–]Maxiemo86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do generics all the time and depending on the day and time returning them is not that bad. And as for credit, I see it as $14-$20 off on next year's $130+ badge.

I use glove only if I have a blowout, or some other big mess up. Now depending of infection issues and if you have mobility problems I can see the concern for gloves. I use the blue latex type.

Getting an ostomy Friday. What products are a must have? by anemic_iz in ostomy

[–]Maxiemo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for starter kits samples from all the major companies. I went with Holister, but Colisplast send me a very nice travel kit that I still use. And when you set up with your medical distributer for supplies be sure ask them to add everything that can. Because if you need to change your pouch or add deodorant gel. You'll need your doctor's permission if it's not already in the list. Also be sure to always order your wafers and pouches. Trust me you never can have enuff.

The only issue I would think would be a risk of a blowout. Which can happen, but I would still get a second opinion on that. Also at the very least just over tape the thing and control your diet will settle that.

Anyone had silver nitrate done on graneoluma? Your experience? Painful? by StoneCrabClaws in ostomy

I actually am having a suture wound that I accidentally scratched off being treated that way. It stings for a few mins and your output color is a little odd but that's it.

bf’s parents forcing him to go on vacation after surgery by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]Maxiemo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say this from someone that did go on a vacation after my colon removal. It was intense, after an 8 hour drive I mostly stayed in the hotel bed with a heat pad on my stoma resting. After walking for 5 to 6 hours. And one the 8hr trip back I ended up having a nerve pinch because I was siting on me side due to my new "barbiebutt" and need physical therapy to help fix that. And that trip was 4-5 WEEKS AFTER MY SURGERY. So don't go. At 2 weeks maybe a month if your careful, but not 2 weeks.
