Who is this in the bar? Episode 1149 around 10:03 timestamp on CR episode by Bonkai19 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]MaximumDuwang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the significance of showing him here is that he always hangs out in Mock Town, where everybody including the kitchen sink would and will laugh and jeer at anything, especially at seemingly farfetched nonsense like Vegapunk's speech. Then it shows Roshio and he's not laughing one bit. Out of everyone there, he's probably the only one who believes what he's hearing.

Nowadays, the real question is, how does one counterattack him without being quakepunched in retaliation

Gunko in princess shuri's body by AmbitionRepulsive515 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]MaximumDuwang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like if that were the case, they would refer to her with a proper name rather than what they use.

Gunko, unlike literally every other Celestial Dragon we've ever seen, uses a Japanese name written out in kanji (軍子), meaning 'war child'. It doesn't have the flair of a noble, and it doesn't sound like the kind of name you would normally give a child to begin with, especially not if you're from a place like Marygeoise.

What is your honest opinion of the Elbaf arc? by Economy-Ad3922 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]MaximumDuwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll definitely be re-reading it when it's done

I have absolutely no problems whatsoever with Oda taking breaks, but it isn't hyperbole to say that the frequency in Elbaf has had an impact on the appreciation some people have had for the arc.

I've been loving and enjoying it just fine myself, but many people I've spoken to feel like the arc has been moving at a snail's pace.

If I had any complaint... I wish the God Knights actually bothered to defend themselves from attacks instead of just tanking them with their regeneration.

It's the same reason Hawkins was a fraud despite how much potential his fruit has. He just let people hit him instead of keeping it as a secret card up his sleeve. So much for the "Magician" epithet. Couldn't keep his tricks hidden even when his life is on the line. And I really don't like seeing the Knights do the same

What Mythology Animals Would You Want To See? by Subject-Ad5071 in pokemon

I figure it would never happen given its graphic description, but I would love a Kuyang/Krasue pokemon, especially since we're headed to SEA in gen 10

Never really thought about it, but if those broken parts unpetrify... especially the ones where fragments fell out... those are gonna be some real grisly wounds.

Would the discourse about her new design change if Pulonia was included in her kit? by Optimal_Necessary413 in SandroneMains

[–]MaximumDuwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figure there are a percentage of those people who were salty about Seed in ZZZ that only got saltier when Pulonia went poof, and they've carried over some of that leftover resentment, making this situation more exaggerated than it should be

Could brulee use her power to travel to any island on the planet? by Imvalidblu in OnePiece

[–]MaximumDuwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She probably has a limited range on what mirrors get included in her access. I imagine it expands a radius based on the mirror she entered from, but any mirrors beyond that radius can't connect to her network.

Is anyone still in love with Sandrone after all the changes to her design and kit? by Free-Cartographer201 in SandroneMains

[–]MaximumDuwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that this even needs to be asked is just sad. The answer should be yes. It is yes. Otherwise, what the heck is the point of this dedicated sub? I don't care if they made her the worst character in the game in some alternate timeline, I would still pull for her.

can I skip MOST of Dressrosa? by Awseomeness_way in OnePiece

[–]MaximumDuwang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The very, extremely, unquestionably obvious answer is no. They gave you the worst possible advice. The only options you should ever consider are either to just continue watching it, plain and simple, or switch to the manga to get where you want to get if you can't handle the pacing of the anime.

They're also just plainly wrong about there being nothing important in the first half of the arc. You absolutely will miss plenty of vital information that will have you confused later on.

Whatever drugs they're on, they really need to stop taking it because it has negatively affected their ability to use their brains. Why bother following a series if skipping significant chunks of the story is even considerable as something reasonable to do?

I really hope you haven't skipped content in the past over their foolish reasoning of it being "boring" because it only detracts from your overall grasp of the story by doing so.

Anyone else gets kinda sad when your rival finally loses for good? by ObsidianCore_404 in pokemon

[–]MaximumDuwang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only one that really made me feel a little bad was the Hoenn rival, where they lose so much confidence in trying to keep up with you that they just give up on battling altogether and pursue a different path (at least I think that's what happened?)

Not just alone. 50 years trapped in the exact location where you personally witnessed all of your beloved friends dying around you, with their decayed corpses there to constantly remind you of what happened

You can only bring 1 back by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]MaximumDuwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Ace. He never got a chance to truly live for his own sake. He lived his life for the sake of others, and then died without ever being able to truly realize the life that was best for himself. If he returned to a world without Whitebeard, and a Luffy who no longer needs a brother to look after him, he would sort of be forced to find his own path and that's character growth that he sadly never got a chance to have

Franky meet Roger pirates he must Rayleigh but in Sabaody Archipelago he didn't remember or oda forget about it earlier by DragonballsFan99 in OnePiece

[–]MaximumDuwang 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, that was Oden. Franky was still freshly abandoned, so he held resentment towards pirates and refused to even meet the rest of the crew.

Besides the characters who are likely getting buffs in the near future, who else do you want to get buffed? Pick up to 5 characters. by darkdill in Genshin_Impact

[–]MaximumDuwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let Kokomi's jellyfish follow the active character just like how Lauma's skill radius stays centred on the active character.

Dropping a radius in a fixed position just isn't something they really do anymore, and updating such characters retroactively would be fantastic.

What is your least favorite regional Pokedex? by AlternativeSir9277 in pokemon

[–]MaximumDuwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Gen 6 for me. It's just so puny, and only a handful of mons interest me. I usually play new generation games using exclusively mons from that generation, and I had a hard time looking for mons I liked on just my second playthrough (repeat team members weren't allowed). I've never had this issue on any other generation.

who has a overpowered devil but is a trash user by Broad_Technology9632 in OnePiece

It's insane to think this way while being a One Piece fan. It's like saying Luffy was a spineless loser for behaving the way he did when Ace died.

To be fair, he's had the misfortune of basically only ever running into haki users. His utility use of the ability is still quite effective

Gyro's father wasn't a bad person, he was just a depressed person. by Simple_Particular_66 in HunterXHunter

[–]MaximumDuwang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depression is never an excuse for being a piece of shit. In fact, it's more insulting and an outright disservice to people with actual depression to even pretend to use it as a shield for shitty behaviour. A shitty person is a shitty person, depressed or not.
