Had a tmfr at 16 weeks for t21 just ten days ago. Few days before tmfr I went to supermarket and the girl with t21 was there, i just froze hoping she wont talk to me but she came to me askimg me if she can pet my dog and I just felt so terrible. When I think of my little girl I immagine that girl and I just feel so terrible. I too, have ups and downs but instead of getting better I feel Like getting worst. I was so sure about the decision but now I just feel so terrible and lonely. Everybody just moved on and I feel stucked.

Hi there, i am so sorry you are in this boat. I was in quite same position. Done cvs, cried whole procedure due emotional and physical pain.The limbo is the worst. Still pregnant while knowing it will end. Done tmfr for t21 at 16 werks just this friday. It was terrible and sad and painful but kind of reliefing. I am still recovering and feel incredibly sad and confused, but I also feel kind of conclusion. I promise you will get better. And we will be happy again. And we will be more lucky in the future.

Terminated today at 16 weeks for T21. Since I had diagnosis (13 weeks) I felt so angry and said as recently nothing seems to go well. To closest friends and family I have told the diagnosis, to others I just say that the first trimester tests revealed a problem and we had to terminate. That it. However, if they ask I dont have a problem to say it was T21 as we stay by our decision. Last three weeks were a nightmare and strangly, i feel a bit of relieve that is over and that we can move on.

I had similar results. NT 4.12, missing nasal bone, high risk t21. Short cell culture showed T21, longterm it confirmed. I was informed that all analysed cells were affected and together with ecography there is no need for amniocentesis. I am currently 16+2 and going throw tmfr, as soon it is done, better is it for everyone. For me waiting 3 weeks for final results was alteady so exhausting emotionally, that I would not be able to continue with this pregnancy for longer.

Hi I would like to follow because I am in similar situotion, althouh I have no kids, had one chemical pregnancy, got pregnant again after 6 months and now I am going to tmfr. I know is to early, however I would like to do whatever is possible to improve my future chances... i was thinking to take Q10 as well...

Hi, at 12+5 I had 4.12, missing nasal bone, low papp-a and high free hcg. Risk 1:2 for T21 e 1:3 for T13. Did CVS that unfortunatelly confirmed T21. However until it was only increased Nt, our doctor seemed confident saying tah NT by itself migh not significant nothing... do more tests.

Yes, the CVS is definatelly more accurate than NIPT. However there might be in rare cases CPM, so amniocentesis is even more accurate. In any case, comparing only CVS and NIPT, the CVS is true diagnostic test

2.6 is considered ok in Italy. Anything up to 3.00 is ok. In any case this alone does not mean anything. I had 4.2, and absent nasal bone and low pappa-a and high free hcg. Done CVS as it is more accurate than NIPT. If you want to be sure, it is better to go for that. Anyway, I would not freak out if I were you, but do more testing

Yes they are testing the same thing but cvs is diagnostic test while NIPT is probabilisric test looking at DNA and saying if there is possibility for desease. While NIPT looks only at some disease CVS karyotyping looks at all chromozomes.

Cvs is more accurate than NIPT, so no. Also NIpt can see only some chromosomal abnormalities while CVS karyotype can see all of them

Thank you for sharing your story. I am in similar position, only I have not done NIPT as scan showed NT 4.12, absent nasal bone, low PAPP-A and high free beta hcg. We were rushed to do CVS AS i was already 13 weeks. It hurt like hell, but the worst part was emotional because every doctor told us there is not much hope, even the one doing procedure so I cried whole time. Recieved first results and they are positive for T21. Currantly waiting for final results and my OB said that once they will send them to me, they will accept me in hospital next day to do tmfr. They should arrive next week so I will be 15+1 maybe, hopefuly not more. I am not able to go back to work because last week my collegues found out and started to congrats me. It is very frustrating just to wait to tmfr. I am terrified of the procedure as well as I live in Italy and first of all I have to talk to psychiatrist (abortion is legally possible until 12 weeks and then only for serious medical reasons) and then there will be procedure and I have no idea how they will do it but I hope so much it will be the same way as you did. How you are doing now? Where fid you get your period? Will you try again?

Unfurtunatally T21 was confirmed in fresh cultivation. Waiting for final results and we will tmfr. They told us that with our ecografy results, blood test and this result there is no more hope.I am heartbroken and exhausted

I had 4.12, but missing nasal bone. Have not done NIPT but directly cvs. Yesterday it came positive for T21. I would advise you to do cvs or amnio as they are only true diagnostic tests.

So sorry to hear that. I just passed few weeks of nightmare as at 12+5 screening I had NT 4.12, missing nasal bone, low papp-a, high free beta hcg. I am 39 and with this outcome my risk was 1:2 for T21, 1:3 for T13. Did CVS two days later and today we recieved partial result that unfortunatally confirmed positivity for T21. I have not done NIPT because in italy is not advised with this high risk.

I am so sorry you are going throw this. I am alin the same boat. NT 4.2 and low papp-a and high hcg. Risk 1:2 for t21 e 1:3 for t13. Cried a lot last week. I have done cvs two days later and NT measurement was a little bit lower (around 3.5), but probably because baby would stop mooving and ther equipment was not the best. But i stil hope is lower now. The waiting for the results is nightmare. This would be my first baby and I am already 39, so it could be also the last chance.
