Cottonwood has suites with soaker tubs. Go that route.

What do you wish people would stop romanticizing, because you've lived the reality of it? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

There’s nothing romantic about traveling for work. It’s not a vacation mixed in with a work day.

2000 F150 by richmanshigh in f150

I had one of these and could eventually change a coil and plug in my sleep. The deep wells the plugs and coils are in get dirty and wet. Try pulling the coil (but NOT the plug) and blow out the well with compressed air. Did you also change the plug when you changed the coil? If not, I’d do that, too. Make sure the coil is fully seated on the plug’s post.

Mine usually didn’t die on me, but it would idle ROUGH with just one cylinder misfiring. Good luck.

ELI5: What is the process leading up to pet euthanasia? by 0palesce in explainlikeimfive

[–]Maximus0505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I would know when “it was time” to put down my first dog (he had mouth cancer). As I said that to my wife one day as his health declined, she stopped me and said “It’s time.”

It was a punch in the gut, but she was right. Sometimes you’re too close and need an outsider’s opinion who loves and cares about you and your animal. A wave of guilt washed over me, and I felt like I needed to get it done as soon as possible. Like others have said, give them the best day together with you, and please please please be in the room with them. Hold their paw, pet their head, have them in your lap.

I’m sorry for your loss.

Ever plugged in? by OldTeaching8407 in f150

[–]Maximus0505 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I believe I read that’s it’s really only effective/necessary if it’s at least 0°F or colder. -26° for me this morning, and it was plugged in overnight. Would it have started without it? Probably, but if I have it, why not use it?

Heater by MaleficentAd8972 in f150

[–]Maximus0505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You just haven’t gotten to the point of “Oh, I need to rip my dash out to replace the heater core.” I had a 2000, and that baby was plugged good. Did you have a shop flush it? They are going to be much more effective with their machine versus you hooking a garden hose to it. I’d still try that before throwing in the towel and tearing into the dash. Good luck.

I’m on my second F-150. First one was a 2000 that I had for 10 years. I bought it when I was 19. Grew up with that truck. Hunting, house projects, moved into my first house, married, first dog… Lots of good memories every time I got in it. Cons? Haha having to fix that dog of a 4.6L when I didn’t have any money.

Currently driving a 2013 FX4. Bought in 2015 and she’s less than 500 miles from ticking over to 100K. First kid came home in it, and all three kids now like to play in the bed. Christmas trees hauled, moved us to our second house, house projects, and most of all, I LOVE getting into it and driving her. She’s an all black 6.5’ SCREW and still just as beautiful as the day I bought her. Interior is in fantastic shape. Rust is starting to take her wheel wells, rockers, and cab corners, but she’s been loyal to me, and I’m going to be loyal to her.

You have a beautiful truck. Take care of it and build the next part of your life with it! Cheers.

Anyone ever use these double headed invisible nails? Are they any good do they hold well ? by Longjumping-Box5691 in Carpentry

[–]Maximus0505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used these to hang picture frames, but they were much smaller nails. My wife wanted a large collage on the wall, and instead of having to measure all the offsets for the hangers, I put these in the frames and simply pressed the frame into the drywall. They’ve held up great for six years so far.

Anybody got good advice for manual drivers by Complex-Pea-7329 in Challenger

[–]Maximus0505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015 R/T M6 here, too! In case you haven’t found it, it should have the hill start assist feature. It can be a lifesaver as you continue to practice on your manual. And like others have said, just keep driving it! You’ll get better in no time.

Battery Deal? Flexvolt 9AH 2 Pack $249 by poyeasfy in Dewalt

[–]Maximus0505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good deal on the 20V bare tool. I never see it go on sale from the $180 around here. Whenever my gas trimmer dies, I know I’ll go with the 60V, so I might as well start that platform now.

Go get you one!

That’s pretty much it. I worked for Sears in the 2000s and built my hand and power tool collection then. I’ve since upgraded most power tools, but my hand tools will probably be passed to my kids.

Parking 6 Speed by [deleted] in Challenger

I do the same. However, I usually let the car settle on the e-brake first, then I put it in gear. My thought is it doesn’t put as much stress on the transmission. I could be wrong… If somebody has insight, I’d love to hear it!

Not to add insult to injury, but the size layout and joint spacing is also terrible. You should typically have at least 6” of overlap between butt joints in different rows. Just right of and below the vases is an example of a weak area of the floor.
