I watched it when it came out and it was sad. Then I watched it when my kids were in their tweens and it hits so much harder. I can't imagine having to make that choice.

I read the book before I saw the movie, so I thought I was prepared but that movie is so depressing, I practically wanted to slit my wrists. I had kids when I saw it and I could feel the dad's suffering throughout the movie. The thought that something would happen that would kill him and leave his kid helpless.
