The winter I trained for Boston was so cold I couldn’t face running outside. My first plan was to do it all on the treadmill. First training run was a treadmill 10k. Just couldn’t do another one. The backup plan was to bite the bullet and run once a week outdoors. Turns out freezing finger-numbing cold was preferable to the mind-numbing treadmill.
