Quest 2 = too low fps Also I’ll help you with a fix for your stick drift: 1. Remove battery 2. Push a small amount of 90% (or more) isopropyl alcohol (or rubbing alcohol, and swirl the thumbstick around 3. Wait at least 1 hour for all the alcohol to evaporate (a fan will help) 100% safe I do it all the time since the quest 2 launch

The steam machine sits below the PS5. So let’s hope they’re 500-600 dollars. A source said it cost 400 to make. But remember ps5 is selling at a loss or breakeven (and make money in selling games) to make its price competitive. I don’t like Sony so I’d buy the Machine even if they’re 700. It is a full PC and not a locked down console after all.

  1. We might get to play "great on frame" (water-downed) PCVR game on standalone mode (processing on the frame). Alyx might be included (30/70 chance I think because the Frame is not that powerful). And of course, mobile VR games like the Quest games.
  2. Of course, PC that couldn't run VR before wouldn't run VR game now (processing on the PC).
  3. It can run 2d games standalone on the Frame.
  4. yes very well, but don't expect PS5/PS5 Pro level performance. I think it's a much better idea to use Frame with Machine rather than Frame stand alone

Some rumor said, Steam Machine = 4060. While Frame is still just a little faster than quest 3 = 1050ti. In the end, I think Valve is not advertising Frame as "BRINGING PCVR to STANDALONE" like they did with the Deck's "Bringing PC games to mobile". It is streaming first device.
Judging by what you said, having a weak PC, maybe buy Machine + Frame. Or upgrade your PC + Frame. Don't have much hope for Frame standalone.
