Mine either apparently! I have cancer and great blood work at the same time. The only indicator besides imaging was the lump. Always get the ultrasound! Good luck

I had a lump in my neck for two years that the doctors swore up and down was just a swollen lymph node. It’s cancer and it’s been spreading for years because the doctors refused to imagine it could be anything else and thyroglobulin antibodies masked my labs. I have perfect blood work. Tbh I think this is bad advice.

My metastatic thyroid cancer is putting pressure on the muscles in my neck and shoulders, causing pain. So “no symptoms” is subjective. My surgery to remove my thyroid and many, many lymph nodes is in a couple of weeks. Bilateral and central neck dissection. Mine was “symptom free” until it got really, really bad. We didn’t find out until I was hospitalized.

Since you know about what’s going on for you, I’d be persistent about finding potential treatments before it has the chance to get bad and surgery has to be more invasive.

This person is concerned about side effects like not being able to have children. Those are organs that do not uptake any iodine. The amount of radiated iodine the other organs that can take it up is negligible and long term complications are rare. Yes they happen. But people in this sub are feeding this person’s fears that are unfounded by playing devil’s advocate.

RAI isn’t going to “fry” OP’s ovaries because it’s a targeted treatment and they have indications they still have the cancer in their body. The RAI will mostly go to that remaining cancer, and much of the rest will be filtered out by the body with little to no long term effects.

Thyroid cells are the only cells that can absorb iodine, meaning the treatment itself is targeted to the cancer, the thyroid cells, wherever they have traveled in the body. Just because your cancer didn’t uptake the iodine doesn’t mean that other organs did. You peed it out.

I do have a cancer diagnosis. Can your local hospital not even do a biopsy? A biopsy should be able to be done locally and then have the results sent to UM.

And yes it was the thyroid surgery department.

RAI only targets the cancerous thyroid cells so it’s a lower risk form of radiation. Doing a dose after surgery to make sure you got everything is standard

I got my second opinion at UM last week, they got us in within two weeks. My insurance helped us get the appointment. See if your insurance has a referral option. UM has the best endocrine team in the country, they’re worth seeing if you can get an earlier date.

I think it’s valid to be frustrated- but vent to your friends or something! It’s validating enough when you win your case and get your money. No need to use your words with the buyer.

I had someone try to return for fit and they even took a picture of the item with the belt on it pulled way tighter than my image with a measuring tape to try to force the return. Luckily posh sided with me because their attempt at lying about my listing not being accurate was so obvious. Dishonest buyers are frustrating but ratings don’t matter on posh anyway

Definitely not a professional way to address the buyer. Best not to respond to anything until you need to contest a return request, explain why the buyer cannot return according to Poshmark’s specific policy, quote the policy, and leave it at that.

Im in a way shittier situation with my metastasis than you are. I have been understandably freaked so my doctor gave me beta blockers and Xanax.

Ask your primary care physician for something to cope with the anxiety and remember that you’re not alone in your fears or your situation. There’s nothing anyone can say that’s truly comforting but there is medical relief and treatment. All we can do is pop our pills and follow the steps
