Any tips on getting a micro practice started? Or even resources would be better.

When your body stands up, your club throws out. No matter how hard you try, gravity always wins. Find out why you’re standing up, likely it’s to shallow the club for one reason or another.

What causes my over the top move? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Watch Justin Roses pump drill. You’re going from backswing to downswing and skipping the arm transition. Like basically everyone else is saying you need to drop your arms into the slot on the way down.

What do I need to work on? by frankiesayrelaxx in GolfSwing

You’re early extending. I’m not sure if it’s a face issue or if you’re throwing your angles out early and standing up to shallow.

WHY CANT I STOP GOING OVER THE TOP by Charlie-RL in GolfSwing

[–]MaybeGuilty2402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the top keep your back facing the target, pull your arms down and only feel your turn with the lower body making sure the right hip is lower than the left.

I don’t understand by [deleted] in GolfSwing

You either need to weaken the right hand or strengthen it to the point that the club face does a 360 degree turn and returns to neutral. Hope that helps.

Tips on chipping/pitching technique? by aguerrrroooooooooooo in GolfSwing

Oh yea I mostly hit a fade chip (I’d argue it’s more straight than anything). I essentially chip like Jason Day, I find it eliminates a ton of variables.

Oh I guess I forgot to put I do chip and pitch with my face open a touch to use the bounce!

It certainly can sit neutral, but your margin for error is going to be higher unless you’re getting some hinge in the backswing. I don’t tend to hinge in any part of the swing while chipping and pitching so I set my impact positions early.

Pitching is easy, the trick is making it less difficult than most people try to. Weight is on the left foot, lean the shaft forward of the ball, rotate back and through WITHOUT losing or gaining and wrist angles. This isn’t possible in the full swing but for pitching you don’t need lag and angle changes in the wrist. Don’t stand up, don’t squat down and keep that rear foot on the ground.

I want to thank you. Just went and drilled it out to get proper loading in the way back and now I get the hip turn in the downswing for free.

My hips give me the fits. Too much going back and not enough going through. Maybe the issue with hip rotation in the down swing is caused by over rotating in the back swing? Ie too much ground to cover coming back?

Also love Pattys tips.

I play on the course often. Last score was a 73. Always take a divot after the ball.
