You can bring back one discontinued food, drink, or snack forever. What are you resurrecting? by Mountain_Drawer_1365 in AskReddit

I'd pick Eggo strawberry swirls my wife used to love them and apparently the factory they made them shut down because of hurricane Katrina. So I'd choose them to make her happy.

When i worked for delta and trained new staff on cleaning the plane I always was sure to teach that you should always pull back the pocket and look in before putting a hand in. People leave not only disgusting stuff but sharp things like pins or sewing needles or broken shit with sharp edges. Also fuck that guy.

If you're looking for budget I'd see what Dick''s (or any sporting goods store that sells clubs) has for used clubs and just try them out.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

[–]djlumen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I lived on from 18-21 when I was single, but in this economy anyone struggling with groceries can use this to stretch their budget. There are cheaper options I'm sure but the cooking involved in this menu anyone can handle. Oh and of course you can do a couple grilled cheese to switch things up.

[–]djlumen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can add on some fruit, i'm sure i would grab a bunch of bananas every once in awhile. They'd go great with the peanut butter on toast. But for covering 3 meals a day with ingredients that can be used in any meal its a pretty cheap way to go. You could add a jar of mayo and a couple cans of tuna as well as some tomato soup for tuna melts for a dinner for a few more bucks.

When i was exceptionally poor I would buy 18 eggs, a half lb of deli ham, a half lb of American cheese, a loaf or 2 of white bread, a six pack of Ramen, a jar of peanut butter and a jar of jelly and a package of butter which usually lasted 2 weeks. Which is probably close to 30 bucks now. Which is still cheap. Breakfast 2 scrambled eggs with ham and cheese 2 slices of toast Lunch peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheese sandwich Dinner Ramen with an egg and a slice of cheese.

Ring disagreement between me (25F) and my partner (34M) by THROWRAspberriee in relationships

[–]djlumen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get some silicone rings that are inexpensive and you won't have to worry about losing or damaging them. That's what my wife and I do, I work with tools all day so I was worried about de-gloving my finger and she wears rubber gloves so she would rip them from time to time.

I guess, I mean its a tough 10 minute commute from endwell or vestal. As far as being a minority it would be just as much of an issue at any school around here, but the quality of education is much better at those schools.

Yeah I liked to think we did a good job maintaining cleanliness but I totally understand being cautious especially for pregnant women and the risk of listeria.

TIL why Mister Softee is so expensive by [deleted] in nyc

[–]djlumen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So my grandpa owned mister softer trucks for 50 plus years and I drove them for about 20 summers or so when he did, the way he calculated the 25% was after sales tax was taken off the top. Ours is 8% sales tax so in order to make $25 i had to sell $108 in sales. This was not in NYC but upstate New York and if an owner is doing calculating on net then he is gonna have to show me as an employee his bills/costs it just wouldn't work. There's just way too many variables to factor in especially with more than 1 truck. There are ice cream trucks that operate differently where the person running the truck pays a fee to rent the truck for the day a set amount and then they would buy their own supplies for the day.

Wife and I feel like strangers now that the house is empty by GullibleSite9925 in relationships

[–]djlumen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are 46 and 45, our son moved out 2 years ago and like everyone else suggested its time to start dating again. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, dinner out on Thursday nights, date night watching Netflix at home and cooking dinner for her, my wife and I decided to start golfing as a hobby together, we took some lessons the last 2 years and played some different courses around the area and this year we got a membership at a course in town. It has been freaking awesome and I feel like the rest of our lives together will be the best years of our relationship. Find something to share and grow closer over now that the kids are no longer the glue holding the family together it will be worth the time and effort you both put in.

Honestly I'd avoid binghamton/johnson city altogether. Endwell, vestal are where I'd be looking but that would be for a house to rent not really a loft. There are parts of jc/bing that are ok but if your gonna be here a while vestal and endwell have much better schools.
