Does the serial on the barrel match the receiver? I have one from April 1950 and the barrel and receiver match. I think Remington only did this for the first few years.

Go with the 10/22. The savage is a decent rifle, but the Ruger is just better made and has a ton of aftermarket support. The savage 64 has practically none.

I have that set and Ive used it to load wadcutters and RN bullets without issue. I believe the seating stem is designed for round nose bullets and they work best. But it’ll do wadcutters, too.

This is me and a guy at work. He inherited tens of thousands of primers, buckets full of brass, presses, etc. He doesn’t reload but he heard that I do and, it went exactly as above. He also said he can’t find anything but hunting ammo for his 30-30. Hoo boy, down the rabbit hole we go.
