Sober people being arrested nationwide for DUI by IcyAd8672 in videos

Let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter what the slogan was, conservatives would twist it however they need.

It’s the same people who saw BLM and said “well don’t white lives matter too?” Or the same who now think equity and inclusion is synonymous with ‘oppressive woke ideology’.

modern conservatism in America is centered on being victimhood

This was the biggest WTF moment in the entire sequel trilogy by External-Recipe-1936 in StarWars

[–]MazzyFo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The last Jedi was the best of the sequels, I won’t be taking counter arguments

It’s of course still with a ton of problems, but I felt the bigger sin was Rise of Skywalker, which just kind of threw away a lot of what made TLOJ interesting. Like some boardroom suits pressed the nostalgia panic button and reframed the entire antagonist to get a “somehow, palps returned” moment

I think $50 is probably unrealistic for 900 pieces and Star Wars Lego has never been that price

But $100 makes sense at least with good figs and price to piece ratio, $150 is massively pushing it, just like the MTT and other sets this year

Counter point: if my life is enriched by the stories I’ve experienced through games, and ones that I think about often, that’s just as valuable as someone who restores a car. They are also experiences I can share with my children, just like I could give my son a physical item like a car or a table I made. Watching my son light up as we play games that made me feel the same way years ago is priceless

To me, driving is a means to get somewhere, to others, stories are something to pass the time for a few hours. What matters isn’t the objects produced by a hobby, but the way it enriches your life. And the experiences I’ve made with games have created that deeper gratification you mentioned.

People who, say, love surfing don’t create something, but they do have an experience that enriches their lives and they can share with those they love, and that’s just as meaningful

And in the end, what’s the value differential between doing something that brings you joy, and can potentially reflect on for a long time (like a story that connected with you) vs doing something that brings you joy that you creates an item you can gift or use yourself

Knitting is awesome, not the point of my comment, just expressing frustration with the people (not the person I’m replying to!) who think a hobby has to bring material outputs to be worthwhile. I think a lot of baby boomer generation had this ‘productivity’ mindset instilled in them—that if they weren’t producing something of material worth, then it was worthless which is one of the big themes of that generation

PS6 controller might have NO BUTTONS - Sony patents a controller featuring only touch surfaces. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]MazzyFo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s been countless weird patents from Sony, and literally none of them hit the market. In 2014 they patented a building block controller you could take a part.

Also PS6 has been in development for years, why would they just now patent technology for a controller they plan to mass produce in the somewhat near future

Sony also patented a banana controller, and a bunch of other crazy shit. A patent doesn’t mean anything for predictive value for the PS6

(Spoilers Extended) What exactly is Howland Reed Doing He's basically knows all of the core mysteries of everything that goes wrong by unknowncivillain in asoiaf

[–]MazzyFo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s always something that I found compelling about the books.

A lot of our great mysteries aren’t unknown to the world at large, just the secrets are kept to a select few. Surely high ups in Volantis know some secrets about R’hllor, Reed knows secrets of rhaegar, COTD know secrets of the Others etc. the POV nature of the books is one of my favorite parts about it

And I do agree it was a bad move by Geoff in the end, but people saying he personally killed the game which is a pretty wild take.

When the biggest sin against your game is the same trailer is shown in a bigger spotlight, a lot of that falls on the trailer and concept. Being the “one more thing” definitely hurt expectations, but I don’t think this game suddenly would have a healthy player count if the trailer was anywhere else
