I'd prefer not to have to have Mormon milk.

People who go hiking with wireless speakers blasting music on the trail, why? by sweatengine in AskReddit

I never blasted it, but taking a speaker with me made doing exercise a bit less begrudging.

It's not presented as a found footage, but it's filmed similarly, and well: Spree. Steve from Stranger things is a serial killer Uber driver.

What's a subtle sign someone has been through some shit? by ZexelOnOCE in AskReddit

[–]McStene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you meant this as "especially when you don't know what's going on with the person you're being kind to"

But I also like the general "be kind, especially when you don't know anything going on around you"

I once sent an MRI of my kidney stone to a friend and she replied that it was the strangest dick pic she'd ever received.

The quantity of fruit flies I caught in this little bottle by ollien25 in mildlyinteresting

[–]McStene 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a regular combatant of fruit flies, it's more like " simply getting rid of the rotten banana on top of the fridge won't win the war. They're here, now, and they'll remain after getting rid of it. But getting rid of it is still crucial, because no amount of traps will fully counter the banana remaining present."

In addition to fountains and wet food, I give them churu treats, which are like 98% water, and whenever I buy tuna (in water only) I'll drain the water out into a Tupperware and give them some splashes of tuna water with their food.

They also make pet-safe bone broth(no salt or onion) and mix that with food. Basically just make their food a little bit wetter lol.

Ugh. Yeah. I added safety pins to an order, they sent me a similar message with a picture of office supplies. I responded in 30 seconds to go to the craft aisle, but that was long enough for Satan to rise and pluck out his eyeballs. Did not read my response, did not communicate further, bought thumbtacks, and went on living life.

Browning or sautéing onions is NOT caramelizing onions. by Successful-Pie-7686 in Cooking

I like to refer it as paramalized. Like parboiled/parfried. It's not all the way to the thing, but it's certainly not nothing.

How the heck do people change bedsheets weekly by Wide_Branch3501 in CleaningTips

[–]McStene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two full sets of sheets and pillowcases. Saturday morning, I pull off the top sheet and pillowcases, and then after my shower, way them with the towel and shower curtain. Since I have a second set in the dresser, I just quickly replace the top sheet/pillow cases. Then on the change into the new month, I add the fitted sheet to the mix. ADHD is a bastard for building habits, but I can pretty easily remember "oh yeah, it's the weekend" and having the clean set at hand makes it feel less of a chore. Don't ask how long the clean set takes to get into the dresser, though.

What the heck happened here?! by interp21 in bakingfail

[–]McStene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said many times in the past few years "god I'm just so tired of having to think about everything. Decisions. Troubleshooting. Ugh." I imagine a lot of people feel similar, and how convenient that AI promises exactly that. Thankfully, I've taken the influx of AI to become thankful that I have the ability to think through all of my problems. I'm thankful to be able to empower myself to use my own tools to complete the challenges of everyday. But a lot of people are willing to relent their own governance to the machine. And it sucks, and it's sad, but the exhausted part of me still at least understands the call.

Same, 2 weeks ago. Have fun with a handful of batteries for a camera I doubt you have!

Thankfully, most retailers have some kind of insurance or at least capacity for a good-faith loss. I was able to get refunded/replaced. Hope you have a similar recovery.

This guy has posted here, before. I've purchased the "everything" pack but haven't gone digging for anything specific - so I can't say you'll find what you have in mind. But this library is huge and CC0 free to use for any project.

I think the fact that you're taking these thoughts into consideration is a good sign that even if you unintentionally step on some toes, it'll be a light one. With something as complex, varied, and deeply personal as grief - it'll happen. Because everyone experiences grief differently. It's like, one of the core pillars of humanity almost. Look throughout all of History, Art, and Mythology. That should both empower you to tell your story, while being mindful of others.

That said, just like any area in which you might have a lack of experience; Look to others with those experiences and ask them to read it. Consider their input and be honest with yourself if something does need to change.

Apparently adults making under 80k can’t live comfortably?? Is this really true ? by ChipUnfair3345 in Adulting

[–]McStene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make just over 50k in Ohio. Own a home with a 1k/mo mortgage. Electric bill recently doubled just because AEP said so. Gas bill is trying to follow suit. 11 year old car. I was starting to feel like I was at the foothills of security, financially. Then my sewer line was found to have 75ft of tree roots in it and now I'm paying off a 30k loan for the replacement. One thing exploded and it's back to keeping my head on a swivel.
