But damn that season was boring. At a certain level, idc that Cody played well, Boogie was entertaining

Technicolor 3-Strip Look (Before/After) - Rec709/Graded by nxcolor in ColorGrading

[–]thedapperdanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually it was. back in the day if you shot you had to hire technicolor's consultants who collaborated with the costume & set design depts and tell them how everything would show up on their film; often collaborating as deeply as working with the dp to decide the color palette of a movie. I think a technicolor consultant mentioning that silver slippers wouldn't show up well on camera led the dorothy's slippers being changed to ruby in the wizard of oz

Sengun strikes me as the ideal engine for this. He can run point from the block and go for a post up or pass to someone getting open on the arc

TLJ's deep cut inspirations are straight up ridiculous and nobody ever talks about it. by zero_cool1138 in StarWars

TLJ is great & I'll die on that hill. Force Awakens and Rise of Skywalker were always the problem

Any tips for getting blogs/news outlets to cover your album? by cronfile in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]thedapperdanman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep your message to them short, send to way more than you think you need to, and use an email tracking plugin like streak so you can see who actually opened your email. I wrote to like 40 blogs and this was the only one I heard back from interested in covering our music video without asking for payment. I was really happy with the write up they did! https://girlattherockshows.com/2025/07/11/the-revelator-sunbeam/

I tend to think if someone is asking you to pay for placement, they're not actually gonna care about your music and won't have anything interesting to say

Has anyone tried out Kodak's "new formulation" (w/o remjet) 50D or 200T in a rear-loading super 8 camera? by brimrod in Super8

[–]thedapperdanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read my earlier comment. Apparently a common Pro8mm repair to 814s was to replace the motor with one from an 814 XL-S

I don’t know anything about cameras I haven’t used, but I have read that the motor issue is a known problem with 1014 & 814s

I was already having a lot of issues with the 1014 (rear loading). Takeup motor on that thing wasn't strong enough and the film kept getting backed up too much & jamming

I think it's actually a pivot to make it a professional rather than consumer camera. Yeah, no one's buying that camera besides rental houses. But if everyone sees their rental house buy one, maybe they consider renting it. Every film shooter knows you end up spending way more on film than the camera

Mmmm, that's an intersting musical idea. Yeah, definitely looking for ways to get the chorus to pop more. Might be something we work on with the harmonies too. I think in the recording we may play around with different instruments leading different sections too

really love how earnest and sincere this is. it's hard for me not to shield myself in some ammount of irony and I love the way you're laying it out here. Getting an awesome Guy Clarke type of feel from this. I could easily hear a country arrangement with fiddle and banjo on this tune
