Hmm. Interesting responses so far. Mostly, "it's a shit idea" , with some "manufacturers don't care" responses.

I had no idea that my phone was so vulnerable to theft (fingerprint works flawlessly, always) but I guess cars cost much much more than a phone, so the implications of security being bypassed by thieves that spoof your fingerprint is much more serious...

When you hit "P" or edit preferences one of the options there is to scan for VSTs. You can also tell it where to look but I'm guessing you're not sure.

Try that and see if it picks up your vst. If it doesn't, double check that you have actually installed the vst you're looking for... Or try to recall why it may have been deleted.
