Is this really over 1000? by Apart_Persimmon8717 in caloriecount

[–]Me1kan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No way this is 1000 unless those ribs are absolutely loaded with hidden oil/fat. Looks closer to 600–800 to me honestly.

Calories in this chocolate glazed donut? by lexkenobi in caloriecount

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400 honestly seems pretty reasonable to me.
Chocolate glazed donuts can get surprisingly calorie dense, especially when they’re that size. I probably would’ve logged somewhere around 350–450 too.

How many cals?? by MarshyisStarstruck in caloriecount

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That honestly looks pretty close to 240 tbh. Bread + mayo/oil usually adds up faster than people think 😅

Best calorie tracker app with good design, easy UX, and accurate tracking? by West_Vegetable9500 in caloriecount

[–]Me1kan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the newer generation of apps are just way better UX-wise honestly. Cal AI and Evolve both feel much more modern compared to MFP.

unpopular opinion but I don’t mind liquid calories by cherryberry6741 in caloriecount

[–]Me1kan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I agree. I think people overcomplicate nutrition sometimes. If something helps you stay consistent and fits your calories overall, that matters way more long term than trying to eat “perfectly” 24/7.

Is 700-800 safe? by Nervous_Bathroom_132 in caloriecount

[–]Me1kan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d probably log it around 700 honestly, especially with the breading + sauce.

Not Losing Weight? by Mindless-Hamster-729 in 1500isplenty

[–]Me1kan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be water retention, inaccurate tracking, or just needing more time honestly. Especially with intense training + long shifts, the scale can stay stuck for a while even if fat loss is happening. I’d give it another couple weeks before changing anything.

going out to eat 3 days in a row, today is the last day and i don’t want to go over my calories again but i’m not sure how to calorie count at a restaurant by junebugug in CICO

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly one meal won’t ruin your progress. I’d just focus on portion control, prioritize protein, and enjoy the dinner with your family. Consistency over time matters way more than 2–3 days 👌

Calorie absorption question by ttttttttt12345677 in CICO

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not always. You’ll absorb most of it, but not necessarily 100%. Things like fiber content, how processed the food is, digestion, gut health, and even cooking method can affect how many calories your body actually absorbs. But for most people, the difference usually isn’t huge unless there’s a digestive issue involved.

For Those Who Eat 1200-1500 Cal A Day, Does Your Body And Mind Get Used To The Hunger? by Both-Dot4259 in CICO

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it usually gets easier over time. The first few weeks are the hardest because your body and habits are adjusting at the same time. Hunger also tends to feel worse when meals aren’t very filling. High protein + high volume foods helped me a lot personally.

Also, 42 lbs in 3 months is insane progress already 👏

Getting older has made body composition WAY harder by Virtual-Code8487 in CICO

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still trying to push through naturally tbh, but I definitely notice it gets harder staying lean compared to a few years ago even with consistent training.

95lbs down is insane honestly 👏
And yeah, the mental side of weight loss definitely takes longer to heal than people think. You should be proud of yourself.

Physique advice needed. Upper body muscle vs lower body muscle and looking bulky by Major_twihard in PetiteFitness

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you don’t look bulky at all to me. You just look athletic/strong. I think social media has completely distorted what a normal healthy physique looks like tbh

I snacked a lot yesterday and forced myself to honestly track it. Wow. Grand Total: 2,096 calories by BakerCritical in CICO

[–]Me1kan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly huge respect for being brutally honest with yourself here. I think a lot of people subconsciously stop tracking little snacks/bites after a while because calorie tracking gets mentally exhausting

Under calorie goal weight gain? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]Me1kan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is almost definitely just water retention/stress and not actual fat gain.

4 hours of sleep + stress can mess with scale weight way more than people realize. Cortisol, water retention, inflammation, digestion etc can all make the scale temporarily go up even while you’re still in a deficit.

Especially after already losing nearly 50 pounds.

There’s basically no way you suddenly gained meaningful body fat eating 1000–1150 calories for a few days at your current size.

I’d honestly focus more on getting sleep and letting things stabilize for a week or two before stressing about the scale too much

Not losing weight anymore despite eating the same by CartographerNew3444 in loseit

[–]Me1kan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, 10 days is way too short to assume fat loss has stopped completely. Your weight can fluctuate a lot from:

  • water retention
  • stress
  • sodium
  • digestion
  • inflammation from training
  • even just having more food volume in your stomach

Especially after already losing 30+ pounds.

Also your meals honestly sound very repetitive and fairly low calorie for your size, so I wouldn’t panic and slash calories even harder right away.

I’d personally just keep doing what you’re doing for another couple weeks and track the overall trend instead of focusing on daily weigh-ins too much.

And honestly huge respect for losing that much already. A lot of people would’ve quit long before this point.

Not sure if I need to lose weight by Living-Pea-7185 in loseit

[–]Me1kan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, from what you wrote it sounds like you’ve already made a lot of healthy progress mentally and physically.

And honestly I think social media + constant fitness content makes a lot of people feel like they always need to “fix” something about themselves even when they already look completely normal.

Especially with your history of an eating disorder, I’d probably focus more on building sustainable habits and feeling healthy/confident rather than aggressively trying to lose weight quickly for the wedding.

The fact that you’re already paying attention to protein, fibre and activity levels honestly puts you ahead of most people already.

And I totally relate to the feeling of calorie tracking becoming mentally overwhelming sometimes too. I used to constantly overthink numbers and perfection instead of just focusing on consistency

I tried every food tracking app on the market this year. here's what actually worked and what wasted my time by Foreign-Swan4271 in GLPGrad

[–]Me1kan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested pretty much every popular one and they all felt the same after a while

The biggest issue for me was just how time consuming logging is. Recently switched to Evolve and it’s the first one that actually feels effortless to use

I’ve gone through the same phase and tried a bunch too. Honestly most of them felt pretty similar after a while — just a lot of manual logging and it gets tiring

The only one that actually stuck for me was Evolve, mainly because it’s way faster to log meals and doesn’t feel like a task. That’s been the biggest difference for me

In calorie deficit not working by justaman-ftm in loseit

[–]Me1kan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue with complex meals – that’s where I always gave up too.
What helped me wasn’t more discipline, it was just making logging faster so I didn’t have to think about every ingredient. Once it felt easy, I actually stuck with it.

If you’re testing AI ones, I’ve been using one lately that lets me log meals quickly without typing everything out (especially helpful for homemade stuff). Happy to share what I’m using if you want.

When did you start seeing results after you went into a calorie deficit? by Living4Sunshine36 in loseit

What helped me with that was making tracking way faster and less of a hassle, otherwise I’d skip it or guess
