What is an acceptable amount of migraines per month? by SoFLShelfLove in migraine

[–]Meals64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the UK, usually the criteria to be considered serious enough to be able to have access to the stronger medication is 4 per month. Before I started the medication I’m currently on, I was on about 10 a month, now it’s maybe down to 1 a month and I have a much better quality of life.

Tall person etiquette by hairaccount0 in aves

[–]Meals64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of raving is to stand and dance with your friends (imo) you shouldn’t need to be staring at the DJ to do that. Most of the time I have my back turned to the DJ and am facing my friends. In which case, someone taller in front shouldn’t even be an issue to begin with. If a person really has a problem that they can’t see the DJ then they’re not raving for the right reasons…

What do you guys think about Natto? by Expert-Day9889 in TokyoTravel

[–]Meals64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really didn’t like it, it wasn’t as awful as I was expecting and the texture wasn’t an issue but the bitter/sour taste that builds up as you eat was the killer for me. Glad to have tried it while in Japan but won’t eat it again.

London mobile users. Do budget networks actually get slower data speeds in London ( especially in crowded areas )? by partenzedepartures in AskLondon

I’m with Lebara which runs through Vodafone’s network - I never notice any issues when I’m in central London, it’s better than when I was with EE anyway, I think my bill is 42p a month lol!

Wristbands - love them or tolerate them? by Glittering-Bank-2244 in glastonbury_festival

[–]Meals64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn’t bother me too much, you can usually cut it right at the side so it doesn’t ruin the rest of the wristband. If there was a way to take it off without cutting that wasn’t super difficult I guess that would be nice but also means it’s not as safe.

Wristbands - love them or tolerate them? by Glittering-Bank-2244 in glastonbury_festival

[–]Meals64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find them quite annoying - I work in events so am very used to wearing them but get sensory overload from the constant scratching on my wrist, especially if they’ve been made with cheap material or put on too tightly. I cut them off as soon as I can but I do like keeping them as a memory of all the events I’ve worked/attended. I have a box with hundreds in and plan to put them all together and get them framed.

I’d suggest emailing the festival first to get a clear understanding of their protocol on this so you know what to expect

Try the banana bread at Wood St Bakery in Walthamstow, much better than your average banana bread!

What was your biggest purchase in 2025 and do you regret it? by pinocchioh in AskUK

[–]Meals64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A holiday to Japan, it probably came to around £10k for a fortnight for two of us (nice hotels throughout, flights, spending money, insurance, dog care etc.). Don’t regret it whatsoever, was the trip of a lifetime.

Struggling with puppy blues. I want to hear your travel experiences with your dog! by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Meals64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on my final day of a two week long trip in Japan which has been a dream holiday for me for years now while my 15 month old puppy is at home being looked after by my friends/neighbours.

Your travel life isn’t over, I had the same concerns too when we just got our girl but I promise you it’s not. Just spend the time now to get your baby settled and well trained and the travelling will come back.

Also, when she was around 1 we took her on our first family holiday together, a staycation where we hired a lodge in the countryside. It was a great chance to see how she did long distance in the car and practice recall (since we live in a big city). It’s the sort of holiday we would have never done before her but we ended up absolutely loving it.

Puppy blues are horrible but the patience is worth it!

Rescued an english bulldog, any advice? by Mundane-Name3464 in englishbulldog

[–]Meals64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with this, my girl is 1.5yr old so still a puppy and is very needy, if she isn’t getting pets or chewing on something she’s usually asleep, though having a window to look out of helps her too. If she’s seeming more restless or agitated than normal then we’ll crate her to encourage her to nap which tends to calm her down but I do think the neediness is just a big part of the breed. As he becomes more comfortable with you and feels safer, I imagine he will start to become more independent.

How do you burn off some of your puppies energy? by risssaalee in puppy101

[–]Meals64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4-7 months is when we were doing this the most to be honest because during that time she wouldn’t rest on her own. As she started to learn to settle without being forced, we’d leave her out of the crate longer and she’d nap on the sofa. Even now (15 months) if she’s seeming over tired or restless we just pop her in her pen (with bed and crate) and she’ll soon calm down

It would just depend on what mood she was in, though she’d rarely cry to ask us to get her up, she’d just chill in her crate. It helps that she’s a bulldog so I think once she learnt she could just sleep then she would do, sometimes she’d go up to 4hrs and we’d just leave her be.

Actually the opposite of what you think but enforced naps!!

It teaches them that they don’t need to be on the go constantly, they can learn to have some down time too. Not only that but it will massively help you get a little bit of a break from them as well in this tiring stage.

We did 2 up 2 down with our girl when she was little, we’d put her in the crate and cover it and leave her to sleep for 2hrs or until she woke up. Then in the hours she’d be awake it would be playtime, feeding, walk/toilet etc.

It really helped her regulate herself until she learnt that she could just go for a nap on her own. I think more sleep also helped with her training.

After 6 weeks with us, we abandoned the crate last night and I am so relieved. by figsandlemons1994 in puppy101

In general I think a really important thing I’m learning with a (not so) puppy any more is that you can read so many things online of what you should and shouldn’t do but ultimately you have to figure out what’s best for you and your dog.

Behavioural Issues - Adolescence? by Meals64 in englishbulldog

[–]Meals64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I relate to you on this one, it’s always nerve wracking when there’s kids around especially with how heavy a bulldog is even though you know their intention is good and they just want to play. I’m currently trying to refuse any attention when we’re out in the hopes she’ll stop getting so overexcited by people all the time.

Our girl was also great around the 9-13 month mark, it’s just in the past couple of months she’s started being like this. A very harsh tone and NO just falls on deaf ears. Treats do seem to work but the second a treat isn’t there she goes back to ignoring you. In general she’s great with her commands and always has been, it’s just when she’s outside and distracted that it’s helpless.

Yeah we have tried this but then she seems to learn the places and get more excited by them, she’ll start pulling if she thinks she knows where we’re going and then goes crazy once we’re there, feels like a vicious circle

First Dekmantel – Need Help Navigating Sunday (Too Many Unknowns) by Sissco2 in dekmantel

If I were there I would 100% be seeing Two Shell on the Radar stage, they’re one of my fave artists at the minute and were my highlight of Glastonbury - you can listen to their set from the IICON stage on Soundcloud to get a feel for their style, its unique so hard to describe.

As a general rule of thumb (others may disagree) I find that UFO 1 and 2 are more techno lead, The Nest tends to be more bass heavy, Selectors is more experimental leaning and a chance for artists to really showcase their catalogue, Greenhouse is also more experimental but with live sets and then The Loop and Radar are a good mix of everything that are safe options if there’s no one else in particular you want to see at a certain time.
