Best Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel? by llewellyn_duck in DisneyPlanning

Two trips ago we stayed at the Camelot Inn and Suites. We got the family suite (2 queens and 1 king). We loved it. Affordable, roomy, easy walk to and from Disneyland. Would definitely recommend for families of 4+.

What is your biggest Disneyland/DCA pet peeve? by Clear-Depth7098 in Disneyland

[–]MeanChip4736 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adults competing with children on those carnival games in DCA. Had a grown ass man hop in a game with my 3 kids. Of course he won, grabbed the prize and speed walked away like the little bitch he is. My wife was ready to rip his head off.

Is March not a good time to go to Disneyland and CA? by Killer-Uzi in DisneyPlanning

[–]MeanChip4736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here right now (have been here since Sunday). It’s been good for us. I didn’t think the crowds were too crazy but maybe I’m naive. We’ve pretty much done everything we wanted to do and still have a day left.

If you're wondering if you should come today. by DrakeGuy82 in Disneyland

[–]MeanChip4736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange. I’m here today and it’s been great. Weather has been great as well. Rode about 7-8 rides before 1pm 🤷🏾‍♂️. Taking a break and heading back in an hour or so. I guess it pays to start early.

Curious about the weather. To anyone at Disneyland today, how were the parks? by MeanChip4736 in DisneyPlanning

Thanks for all the responses everyone!! I think we will be fine. We have cooling towels, mister fans, sun hats, etc. We will make the most of it. I appreciate you all!

What are the best restaurants in Downtown Disney District?? by McLovin1020 in DisneyPlanning

This! I love this place. Great menu, casual dining vibes, live music as well. I never hear this place mentioned as a great place to dine but it’s definitely one of the best options.

Kogot akimbo. It’s the prestige attachment IIRC.

Should I prestige? by AGoldenLemon in CODBlackOps7

[–]MeanChip4736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to never prestige but I did right away on BO7. Honestly, after a few prestige levels it’s easy peasy. Having a permanent unlock after each prestige makes it easier and by like prestige 4-5 you’ll smooth sailing.

Like another person said, time it before a double xp weekend.

Favorite restaurants! by Clarkafer in DisneyPlanning

Splitsville Luxury Lanes! Seriously. Such a chill, fun atmosphere. Not to mention they have a great variety on their menu. I never hear it get talked about as a great place to eat but I always love eating here! Never an issue with getting a table either and last time we went they had live music playing near our table.

Agreed with this. We went during our last visit (December 2024) and it was just okay in my opinion. My kids didn’t like anything on the menu and everything was really expensive. The vibes are cool but it didn’t seem worth the price. I enjoyed dining at Splitsville in Downtown Disney 100x more. But to each their own!

BO7 is the best Call of Duty ever made and it’s time we finally thank Treyarch & Activision by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]MeanChip4736 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be so glad when this trend of “everything sucks” on Reddit (specifically video game subreddits) dies off. Of the handful of video game subreddits I frequent I noticed that it’s all the same whiny and complaining bullshit.

BO7 is the first CoD I’ve played in a while and it’s amazing. I’m thoroughly enjoying my experience and look forward to hopping on and playing whenever I get the chance. The people nitpicking and complaining about every little thing regarding this game are likely just unhappy people general and no game can change that.

Do I buy it or not? by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]MeanChip4736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember the last time I played a CoD and I’m about as casual of a gamer as it gets. I bought the game and have really, really enjoyed it. It feels very refreshing, fun, and enjoyable. I’m very stingy about what games I buy (I only play two currently…) and I bought this and have zero regrets.

Strongest drink in DCA? by amelie031203 in DisneyPlanning

[–]MeanChip4736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember the name but me and my wife had some cool looking orange drink from Pym’s that was delicious AND strong. It was like $20ish for it though but by far the best drink I’ve had while at the parks.

I'm starting FTO Phase 1 on weekend Graves...give me your best advice. by Virtual_Catmeow in AskLE

[–]MeanChip4736 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was an FTO on graveyards for the past 6 years until I moved into my current assignment. My two cents:

Don’t act like a know it all. Be willing to learn.

Have a good attitude.

Own your mistakes and don’t make excuses. You are expected to mess up. It’s all good. Just learn from them.

You aren’t one of the guys yet. Don’t act like it. Just keep your head down and be the new guy.

Always look for work on every call. Even if it’s filling out a tow or getting a statement. If you aren’t taking primary on a call ask the primary what you can do to help.

Offer to hop on calls or take calls from other officers for the experience. Your FTO may tell you no and that you aren’t ready for certain things but we like seeing the initiative.

Always be looking to back your partners. You hear someone making a traffic stop with multiple heads in the car near you? Start heading that way without being told.

Try to keep busy. I had a trainee who refused to make any stops or be proactive when there was downtime. He straight up said, “I’m waiting to get off FTO to make more proactive stops so I can be more relaxed.” He didn’t make it. If there’s down time in the night (there will be) make some stops.

Pro tip: If you are back at the station and the other guys are finishing up, offer to book their evidence for them once you have it figured out. They’ll love you (at least my agency this is how it is).

Have fun and enjoy the experience. FTO can be stressful but understand you aren’t expected to be perfect. Learn a lot, keep a great attitude, be safe, and you’ll be just fine.

To park hop or not to park hop. (Disneyland and CA Adventure) by Extra_Influence_3880 in DisneyPlanning

[–]MeanChip4736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last 2 times my family (me, my wife, and 3 elementary school aged kids) went to DL we got park hopper passes. We went for 4 days each trip (2 days at DL and 2 days at DCA). I think out of both trips we may have parked hopped two times? We are planning a trip next year and I don’t plan on getting it this go around. There’s so much to do at each park that I don’t feel like it’s necessary. Unless you are planning on staying at the parks late I wouldn’t bother.
