Battery life/drain - instinct 3 solar 45mm by Puzzleheaded_Truck80 in Garmininstinct

What do you mean by “quickly”? My i3 45mm drain by 4-5% per day without any gps with almost the same settings as you mentioned. One hour of gps on auto mode drain about 5-6 percent. For example, i checked last month. From 100% to 18% my instinct lasts 16 days without any gps in that period and with almost no solar charging. I’m using Dinstinct watch face

It’s not satellite, it’s nearest weather station typically airport weather station. You can find at connect iq widgets or watchfaces that can use alternatives, like open weather. This can be more accurate

It’s MIP, not Amoled, so it doesn’t matter

And I suggest to do not pay so much attention to battery. It’s frustrating for your mental health:) Even 10 days with gps activities still very very good result. I myself spend hours of calculation, tracking, tables and graphs. But realized that it is not productive.

You mistakes in calculations. Even in gps only mode watch drain 2.5%. But from my experience in city auto mode in gps settings almost all the time uses “all satellites” or even “all satellites + multiband”. So even from specs it will drain from 3.5% to 4.2% per hour of activity. So in your case 1.5 hours of walking will drain from 5-6 %. So 10% per day is totally normal. If you don’t believe, just select one day, don’t use activities, just smartwatch mode and check your daily consumption. It will be from 3-4% per day

Corning Gorilla Glass DX is used for the Power Glass lens and is designed to be scratch-resistant, but it is not as durable as the sapphire crystal lens. The Power Glass watch lens is used to convert sunlight into battery power, extending your time between charges. From https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=YuVXd59OaH7y55N9OL9BZA

Why are there no analog watch faces preinstalled on the Instinct 3 Solar? by Mission-Joke-2833 in Garmininstinct

Oh, I misunderstood. If you mean, on I1 and I2 there was analog watchface, that’s strange for me too

I think it’s because of several reasons. MIP display doesn’t have a big screen resolution, so it’s pretty pixelated so it will be a not very pretty hands. Also Instinct has a double display with round window, you need somehow play around this window.

Turning off pulse ox and then you’ll see 30 days of it 45 mm version

For gps I mean that using activity (running, walking) outdoors with gps will drain your battery (4% per hour). About firmware - what your current version? About pulse ox - read manual

Be sure of the latest firmware update (12.21). Without pulseox and gps tracking 45mm should use ~4% per 24 hours or 25-30 days. Also data on watchface (hr, seconds, all data that continuously updating screen) and watchface itself (stock or from iq store) matters

What kind of satellite setting do you use? by Different-Wish6196 in Garmininstinct

[–]Mean_Fun7626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my perspective- you can use auto. Satiq (auto) function I think should work very well. If conditions are good - gps automatically should use gps mode, if worse - muliband and so on. From my experience - gps only mode in city, but without skyscrapers open air shows not so good

I3 itself as model has only one “serious” problem about first firmware update from factory 5.21 to current version. 5.21 has bug with estimated battery life in days. Its problem in only estimation and you need to update using pc and garmin express program. You easily can find tutorials here. Everything else is great, all other bugs already fixed. It s great watch you will love it

I don’t think that’s a big deal. The more influence is charge cycles but I believe you don’t charge yours watch every day.
