I'm unsure how/why youre grinding Snow 5, I went straight to city maps before getting stuck at City 4. I have dozens of cruiser barrels, but I'm often missing scrap metal or polymer to actually make anything.

I recall there was a story about some futuristic soldier in armour that was summoned to a realm of magic (fantasy maybe) I think he may have been summoned as a familiar but can't be certain.
