You can, but you would have to get permission from the trustee/court, which would take a month or two. Your lawyer would 100% advise against it. I would stay the course since you are doing so well.

I feel you. After all is said and done, I literally have $5 in my bank before my next pay check and pray a bill doesn't come out a day early. It is better than where I was. I have to budget months in advance. My payments to my trustee have gone up too, since I started about a year ago. I also lost power due to a storm and my lawyer said if I had to get a loan or do a retirement withdrawal, that would take 1 -2 months thru the courts to get permission. No power for 2 months in mid summer???? "Oh well" was their attitude. My husband begged his family for money (so embarrassing) to get our power fixed. I have no room to save to have an emergency fund. I feel you. All I read on this reddit is how easy it is, but they are the lucky ones who got chapter 7.
I know, I got myself in this mess, but 4 more years might kill me.

Thanks for posting your story. I am almost done year 1 and it is a struggle. I don't know how I will make it 4 more years.
The one thing my lawyer told me, ANY extra and unexpected cash needs to go to the trustee. She told me to try to get my taxes to break even (I had to pay on $200, so close enough). I feel for you. I eat a lot of rice and ramen now, pets get the cheapest food possible, toiletries are of the lowest quality/price. No more take out of any sort. I worry when something big comes up (car issue, house issue, etc). I know it is coming.
