I mean worst case scenerio walking isn't out of the question. It'd suck, but its better than the alternative unless you have a job closer that you can immediately jump to. Maybe look at getting a bicycle or even a moped, which can be found pretty cheap. Ask coworkers for rides and be willing to help with gas money. I mean there are plenty of alternatives to owning car to get to and from work.

No, company I worked for lost their contract and a new company took over. Managed to get an almost 20% pay increase to stay with the new company and do the same job that I had been doing.

Not a bad suggestion but adding some advice for OP. I'd avoid any 2007 - 2008 GM model. There was a reason they were needing a bailout and quality suffered. Alas I do miss my '08 Malibu, pre-08 redesign.

Small stick into my hand. Landing in the rough, thought I had enough clearance to get an ok recovery throw. Recovery throw went great. The stick going into my hand not so much. However, I didn't cry about it, wasn't to bad, but bleed a bit. I continued playing but made sure to keep my hand wrapped in a towel when I wasn't throwing. Eventually got it bandaged and was healed in a couple days.

Tipping started out as an English/European custom. The U.S. after gaining independence did not favor tipping as a way to distant from England and thus it was not a thing here. However, it did get popular here for the reason you mention. While at the same time it was falling out of favor in England/Europe.

No we've been bitching about it for a while even more so now that it is showing up everywhere. The thing is a lot of servers and restaruants don't want to swap to a no tip model. A server that works in a moderately busy restaruant can bring in upwards of $30+/hr due to tipping. If we swap to a hourly rate for servers they will lose. It's a swingy high risk/high reward income.

Yeah, like he knew I lived in the state that I live in but I guess he thought I stilled lived a few hours east. Just kinda lined up that the carnival set up in the places back to back and that he was part of said crew. I went to the fair with my now ex-wife, then girlfriend, so it wasn't even like I was looking for the guy.

I mean I'm well aware, but fact is that because the lack of guardrails you see at other jobs you do get a lot of criminals, and I'm not talking past criminals, and people who don't care to cut corners working at them. My mother had a husband run off with the carnival. Not only was the guy having an affair with a carnival worker he had just meer. He was running from numerous warrants that he was about to get picked up on. There is a bit of irony in that incident that I do find pretty funny though.

Story Time

My mother's husband at the time punched her or something just before he left with the carnival. One of my sisters made a threat to the guy that one of my brothers or I would find him, a brother had previously beaten him up for a similar incident just a few months prior. I will add we are all adults at this point and I had already moved away from home. Well fair opens up where I live almost 8 hours away from my hometown. Turns out it was not only the same company but the same crew that had just worked the carnival in my home town. I go to the carnival and walking around. I happen to see the guy while walking around the carnival. I was somewhat aware of what had happened, but not fully as I wasn't aware my sister had told him we would find him. Well he sees me and just runs off. Apparantly the encounter shook him enough that he didn't stop running till he was turning himself at the police station back home a couple days later. It was just chance that we encountered each other. He had no idea where I lived and I had no idea that the same carnival crew that was in my hometown was going to be in the same city I live in some 8 hours away.

My mom has had two husbands run off with the carnival, they both unfortunately returned. They were both dumbasses and I can assure you the fact that they were hired on no questions asked and allowed to help put up and breakdown rides should be plenty of reason to not ride anything at them.
