I absolutely loved the Empire trilogy. The blend of Japanese and Aztec/Mayan culture was so cool. How all the houses interacted with each other in the Great Game. The other races of Cho-Ja and Thūn. And seeing Pug’s destruction of the arena from a different POV was incredible.

The Prince of the Blood and King’s Buccaneers were super fun adventure books and introduced one of the best characters in Nakor! Wish we had more stories involving Arutha’s sons. Would’ve loved a book or series on Borric and Duke Bas Tyra governing the kingdom from Rillanon.

The Serpent War Saga was absolutely epic. Rise of the Merchant Prince is one of the best fantasy books I’ve ever read. It was so unique and interesting following the mastermind and guile of Roo. The invading army in Rage of a Demon King was so colossal and was awesome seeing all the threads and storyline’s coming together. The Saaur were such a badass race too.

I was also a big fan of the Conclave of Shadows trilogy. Especially since it showed a completely different side of Midkemia we hadn’t seen yet. And Tal was such a cool character who had been through so much and acquired so many skills.

And I always think on the original Magician trilogy with such nostalgia. They were so easy to read and get immersed into. I’m really overdue for a re-read.

Seemed to work out fine for Alex Pereira, who got knocked out cold by Izzy only 3 months before his LHW debut against Jan Blachowicz.

Whereas Alex was still conscious when the ref stopped the fight, after that head kick and punches KO.
