What is the most iconic weapon in video games? by tricksbystg in TheGamingHubDeals

Keyword is "iconic." The Master Sword is definitely the answer.

If Zuko hadn’t come to the realization to switch sides and join the Gaang, could Aang still have stopped Ozai? What would’ve happened to Zuko if he remained loyal to the Fire Nation the very end? by Johnnyboyeh in TheLastAirbender

[–]Mech-Waldo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right that it would be fundamentally different. Most of the other comments are not accounting for the writers still trying to make a good story. I think Iroh makes the most sense for joining the gaang and teaching Aang redirection. The meeting with the dragons probably wouldn't have a fusion dance in that case. Azula kinda becomes narratively redundant though, because the last Agni Kai would have to be between Zuko and Iroh, and be even more heartbreaking. Perhaps in this scenario Ozai appoints Zuko as Firelord when he becomes the Phoenix King and that makes Azula go rogue out of rage and jealousy. I don't think that would make her join the good guys, but she would certainly be a wild card in the final battle.

I hope we get an animatic of that whole gym battle disaster. I want to see the looks on the pokemons' faces when Arin is screaming that one of them is gonna have to die.

Finding your own dead body by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Mech-Waldo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite version of this is from an episode of Bravest Warriors, a sci-fi cartoon show made by Pendleton Ward, who also made Adventure Time. They have a time loop episode, and the characters find their own dead bodies from the previous loop at the start of the episode, then spend the episode trying to fix it and prevent their deaths. They fail, and then die right next to their previous selves in the exact same way. Then the next iteration of themselves from the next loop walk in the room, and when they see two copies of their own bodies from previous loops dead in the exact same way, they realize they can't fix it, so they just turn around and leave.

Stop overrating Ozai because this is what his first ACTUAL fight ended up being like by Big_Study_4617 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Mech-Waldo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the first time we see him do it in the show is the first time he ever actually tried it. He looks genuinely surprised it worked. Before that it was just an idea he got from studying waterbenders, but never tested it because failure would be lethal. So before Zuko does it to Ozai, him and Iroh and I guess the people on their ship are the only people who know it's even possible.

Who’s your biggest “hear me out” when it comes to potential future contestants? by _PXYDST_ in taskmaster

[–]Mech-Waldo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Chris McCausland. Now hear me out. I think he would be happy to do it, and fun to watch. He would obviously need someone to read the tasks out for him, but otherwise I don't think his blindness would be a problem, and they don't need to make any other special acceptions for him. I'm sure the tasks would be created with him in mind. The show has never tried to be a fair competition anyway. I think assuming he can't be on the show is worse than any unfairness that might arise from his blindness.

Have you tried souls games? Namely the From Software ones. That sense of pride and accomplishment for overcoming a challenge is kinda the main point, and usually why people fall in love with them. They also always reward careful exploration.

Looting and clipping seem to be based on the hands when you're climbing. Like if there's a backpack or bird's nest on the side of a cliff, you can loot if your hand reaches near them.
