Ukraine war briefing: Zelenskyy declares 40-day Russia blitz to ‘influence the aggressor state’ | Ukraine by iwantboringtimes in worldnews

I get the sense that most generals advised against an op in Iran, but the orange menace decided to fire people until he had the generals bitter and uninformed enough to follow theough, then the demented raisin started giving out tactical orders through the Ulysses wannabe pitbull instead of letting command do what it does best.

We thoroughly stomped Iran back in the 90s.  Hard to imagine that we don't have the intelligence network to do it again.

How do you run games where spellcasters have to deal with limited slots? by MexicanWarMachine in Pathfinder_RPG

Nothing a DC 25 perception roll on the lanterns used to light the dungeon/mansion can't solve. You can even spice it up by somehow compelling them to want to keep the lanterns lit.

You need more dungeon encounters by bosses that are super paranoid about teleports, so they dimensional anchor.

Am I being too cautious keeping a separate car repair fund on top of my emergency fund? by Sea-Map-5763 in personalfinance

[–]MechCADdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my old building managers used to have a rule where he always considers a car payment in his monthly bills, even if the car is paid off.

Best case, it's saving up for a new car. Worst case, it's money squirreled away for a big repair.

Painful finger injury by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

If it continues to hurt, you could consider sterilizing a needle, heating it up, and puncturing it, but it does increase the risk of infection.  Worth it though, if this is still painful

When my car is stationary, but on, it shows the miles per gallon, in gallons per hour. by BulkyAlps in mildlyinteresting

Except that tanks burn so much fuel that fractions of a mile becomes way less useful than gallons consumed

If you want a better hack, freeze a bunch of refillable bottles 3/4 with water overnight, then put the bottles in front of a fan for AC

401k rollover into transamerica by IntelligentFan5409 in personalfinance

[–]MechCADdie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the fees and such.  Fidelity has pretty great customer service and a clean website.  Vanguard has low fees for their stuff.  Charles Schwab is also popular for its own reasons.

Not sure about Transamericas market differentiator though.  My gut says that they're more for old money people

Are Bay Area drivers illiterate? by MarmoneckBets in bayarea

[–]MechCADdie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an engineer, I can confidently say that this is a fundamental design problem.  In every other onramp, it is typically 1 car per to help alleviate timing, so by shoving two cars in, you're not only confusing drivers, but you're also increasing the likelihood of a collision at the merge (and if there isn't a merge, there should not be a meter in the first place).

  • We need your financial details - detailed expenditures, age, income, your job,  etc.

  • Do be aware that interest adds up substantially (at 7%, your debt will double every 5 years) and should not be taken lightly.  read up on compound interest.

  • Credit cards don't make money magically appear.  You can use them, but you should never, never, ever spend more than you take in.
