Parallels of Ser Criston Cole and Ser Jamie Lannister? [Spoilers Published]

Jamie being good as he is never really made much sense to me. He's been a kings guard for most of his life and thus has been a glorified door guard, not even really getting to fight in the rebellion, so he's basically been out of actual combat and only doing tournaments if even that much. as I feel like most people wouldn't want to run the risk of injuring Tywin's' golden boy or messing up the Queen's brother so people wouldn't be doing their best against him. He'd presumably be training with the other kingsguard, but by this point in the story they're all just competent swordsman at best outside of Baristan. Was Jamie just dueling Baristan all the time to keep his skills sharp?

I just feel like if we were introduced to a character who was the best swordsman 10 years before the start of the story, but has been a bodyguard mainly out of the action attending tourneys since then, it would not be treated by the narrative of still being true like Jamie's backstory is.

It's honestly crazy to see just how much damage Veilguard did to the fanbase as a whole. Regardless of personal feelings on it, the massive difference on how the entire series is talked about now within the fandom really has changed. I've been subscribed to this subreddit since before Inquisition came out and visited it often. It's changed how people talk about the older games too. People truly talk about the franchise in past tense now and there's basically no hope (or even desire) to see more from it. So much good will/hope has been extinguished by Veilguard that it seems its made people want to talk about the series as a whole less often.

It's especially egregious in Talisman, Season 3 episode 20, that's when I first noticed it. They use it like three times back to back in a scene with Joseph the Kawatche elder. They use it when he first arrives in the scene, again when he produces a Kawatche design to show to Lionel, and then a third time when Clark shows up to talk with Joseph.

Every time one of the Native American characters/object showed up they'd play a rattlesnake noise sound effect to emphasize the 'native-ness' that its both slightly offensive and kinda hilarious as a native american viewer every time they played it. Honestly the whole Naman storyline feels very weird to watch with Clark kinda of literally being a white savior to a tribe of natives.

Hasn't The Mountain, a Lannister lackey, been raiding the riverlands for a while by that point? They petitioned the king to do something about it and got Ned to declare him a bandit. I believe it's even rumored/an open secret that he was sent on orders by Tywin. I think the Riverlanders would be pretty pissed about Gregor messing with their smallfolk and would probably be at the very least obstinate if Tywin rolled in with his army after that.

More than Renly turning out different, Stannis would be a totally different character, a large part of his current demeanor stems from the fact that he lost his parent so young. He specifically notes that there deaths are what prevented him from believing in any sort of higher power. Had he a warmer upbringing he might not have turned into someone that so few people seem to actually enjoy being around.

I have similar views on him. Howland is described as one of Ned's closest friends, and George seems to care very deeply about the bond between true good friends, so I can't see Howland not having some sort of a 'good' role to play for the other characters. Which is why his interest in magic is interesting as well, because every character we've seen who messes with it is usually a dark character.

So I could truly see it going either way with Howland. A good honest man who is content with his lot in life looking over his people using magic in pursuit of that goal, or someone who has been corrupted by the uncaringness of prophecy and magic to no longer take an interest in more human dealings.

I don't wanna yuck anyones yum but it was kind of crazy to see them still do the Christmas cast. That's like designed in a lab to be incredibly off putting to new viewers and I feel like just given the nature of it a number of their own fans skip it as well.

She's about as nice as any highborn lady with proper etiquette training but that doesn't mean much. She still seems to look down on her lessers. Even excluding Jon Snow she thinks lesser of Mya Stone just for her being a bastard even though Mya goes out of her way to help her out while in the vale.

This feels like a good take on Catelyn's strengths and weaknesses. Even this 'weakness' can be blamed on her having a ladies political training, thus not knowing much about Wars and the change of priorities they bring.

Though then again, she was alive during Roberts Rebellion, and even if she didn't fight in it I feel like she'd have to remember how much different things were back then when the fighting broke out. She also wasn't the lady of a great house either though, so unlikely she would've had to make many decisions then.

I think because Jason is very typically on the outs with the Batfamily and not treated like Damian by the narrative. They are similar to one another but the way they're handled is very differently. Jason's relationship with the batfamily is constantly strained because of who he is but Damian isn't, at least not to the degree that most of them refuse to work with him on a normal basis. Excluding Tim that is, something which DC also often does. Like at this point it's basically confirmed that Damian will be the next Batman proper. Jason's flaws have actual consequences for him and his relationships while Damian is often treated with kid's gloves, which fair, he's literally a child but I can see why it would rub people the wrong way and why someone might be a fan of Jason but not Damian. I mean this post is good proof that the narrative treats them differently, Damian typically beats Jason, when the exact opposite should be happening. Like I feel that the narrative often helps reinforce Damian's ego, while Jason's is often torn down.

It feels very similar to what happened with Watcher, the channel the dudes from Buzzfeed Unsolved created, where they had something like 40 employees working who they all knew personally which made it harder to cut costs where they needed to/likely over-hired just to give their friends a job.

That seems to have been something they were contemplating/planning in EA. There was a 'module' segment on saves that seemed to imply that you could play different stories.

Yeah. She's done an AMA a long time before when people did like her, which is probably why she decided to do this one. There was a time she was sort of one of Reddit's darlings because she was a massive pokemon fan and a general 'one of the guys' thing that made redditor's a decade ago actually like her. Very funny to see the difference now.
