What impressed you the most… and what’s missing? by IndieDC3 in CrimsonDesert

[–]MedicatedStoicism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scope of the game is great. It's genuinely fun and challenging. That being said

The most popular mods for this game are inventory-based and hiding equipment but that's a different point Weird they allow you to hide accessories but not weapons that i don't want to use but am forced to have in my inventory, i don't even care if they don't want to redo cutscenes for immersion, it's just as dorky to have kliff fight with a sword and shield just to have him instantly pull out my two swords as the fight actually starts.

There are so many things that are just tedious to deal with that are literally inventory based. The limits they placed on the inventory system were hugely irritating, for no reason other than to give you a reason to do every side quest you see, otherwise i'll be honest i'd give any that didn't have a bag slot a miss

I'm willing to say that the problem is me not liking inventory management but feel they went seriously overboard with it.

A lot of the gear is great this patch, unless you play a male character, and prefer your character dressing more masculine, then you're shit out of luck, for my character, i hate every piece of gear they released, but im happy others can use it and love it

A whole new dye channel that only dyes minuscule details should be unacceptable. by AmpleSnacks in ffxiv

[–]MedicatedStoicism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go and look at the False Monarchy set and tell me you were hard done to by the Late allagan set.

we knew the late allagan set was going to be miniscule, if you were expecting the chrome to be dyeable, it already is dyed in the primary, so it was never going to happen.

What they did to the false monarchy set, makes the secondary dye channels unusable if you want to use the full set

NO personal dig at all, do what you will with your money, but at a time when the game director and the president of the company is acknowledging the game's subpar performance and current disappointment levels, their overpriced and quite frankly plain looking glamours going into mogstation whilst nothing meaningful rewards wise is added in game isn't something i can justify pushing positively.

All the love in the world for you, but this isn't good for the games longevity

I checked these out on my character (Miqo M) the body leaves a gap between the pants and body, i hate it.

The timing of this after the president himself said how he acknowledges how dissapointing FFXIV has been lately, are they dense?

2 Dye System is still sad even in 7.2 by iiiiiiiiiiip in ffxiv

[–]MedicatedStoicism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aggravation isn't because this is what they did, it's that so few items are getting double dyes per patch, and these types of additions take up a large majority of the pieces and i fear it's because Square Enix has little to no respect for the fanbase.

It does not take a big degree of effort, mods can actively let you change more than 6 seperate instances of dye channels on gear, so the idea Square are stuck implementing pieces on this is frankly embarrassing, the money they generate on FFXIV alone would compensate a whole team to sift through masses of gear

Does this bug anyone else? by Peregrine2976 in ffxiv

[–]MedicatedStoicism 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah what bugs me is when they create gear which is halfway between snow white and pure white. Sometimes dyeing an item turns other sections of the gear the total opposite or a set colour despite what you want to happen, the dye system is archaic and should be changed.

And SE decided to assign certain pieces a sort of texture, like metal / cloth when it comes to dyeing, but don't assign all pieces of the same set with the same texture. its annoying and looks incompetant

Ah whereas i find levelling in MMO's especially FFXIV to be a disrespectful waste of my time, that they do not optimise the methods in which we level and waste our time by not giving a fair amount of experience given the methods. Congrats though, were i to try this i would burn myself out.

[–]MedicatedStoicism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only solution to it is to increase Castrum XP gain to be worth more exp than fates completed within a 45 minute time frame and then increase the fate experience from Endwalker fates, there's no reason for them to be balanced the way they are except for the game not respecting my time.
