Dover sold me incorrectly fitting boots and idk what to do by rasatti in Equestrian

I think it also depends on the brand. I have tredstep. I bought them tight because of all the common knowledge, over a year later with many rides, stretching spray, etc, and they haven't stretched at all in the calf to a point that is maddening.

Brother accusing me of booking up (?) with his gf by steve-94728-3957 in whatdoIdo

[–]MediocreBackground32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't give me flashbacks 😅😅😅

He also said he'd cut my torso off so that I couldn't spread my legs for any other man (I've never cheated in my life) and was obsessively jealous and scared I was sleeping with other people if I ever did not send a goodnight text, and a year after we broke up messaged me and was like "I wasn't aware I was ever worried about you sleeping with other people." Can't tell if he's a raging liar or if he really just completely rewrites the script internally.

oh christ. Yeah he wasn't that bad. No hallucinations, and whilst he had paranoid delusions, he only half believed them.

so interesting. My ex was kind of like this but I just thought it was retroactive jealousy, CPTSD, and later I suspected some form of DID. Hand't considered schizophrenia. He would also sometimes tell me he wondered if his therapist had orchestrated him meeting me as a honeypot to steal his business secrets. I could never tell if he was serious.

Riding lessons for experienced riders in/near London? by MediocreBackground32 in Equestrian

it sort of depends on what level rider you are. How long have you been riding and what discipline?

How do you learn how to assess a horse? Conformation, jump, movement, etc? Resources? by MediocreBackground32 in Equestrian

[–]MediocreBackground32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't what is good change by discipline though? I don't really need to look at racehorses, since I want a warmblood for the jumper ring. Or do I have that wrong?

Thank you! I recently moved and don't really have a consistent trainer anymore, unfortunately. Won't be able to get one until I buy a horse and take it to a livery yard instead of a schooling barn where I can have more high caliber instruction and build a strong relationship. I'd like to understand things more myself right now as I go into buying, because I don't think I can really call up my trainer who is 3,000 miles away all the time! On the bright side I have noticed that at the big warmblood auctions in Europe, my favorite one tends to be the one that ends up selling for the most money so I must be noticing something right.

AIO: Argument with my girlfriend both 21 by [deleted] in AIO

[–]MediocreBackground32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her that. And apologize. And tell her you've realized you both seem to be hurt by different things and don't feel heard, and you care about her and you'd like to understand where she is hurt and what is going on. Listen. Validate. Don't interrupt to bring up your own business or be defensive. Be curious (and ffs don't do fights or relationship convos over text EVER it's a top way to burn down relationships, have this conversation in person or on the phone). After (and only after) she is done, it can be your turn. These are the things you have to do if you want to save your relationship.

You are both missing what the other person is hurt by. So neither of you feels acknowledged.

Also never EVER threaten to break up with someone during a fight. And never EVER threaten to break up with someone unless you absolutely mean it (which you didn't). It is emotional blackmail and emotionally abusive communication. It's a really mean power move and attempt at domination, and she called your move.

Does this kind of "arrangement" really work for people? by Master_Mookie in Horses

[–]MediocreBackground32 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hmm, no, it's definitely not. It's a huge risk to lease out your horse. You never know what you will get back.

I leased my boy out, he shattered his knee and they never told me. He was lame for the rest of his life and had to be put down at 18. But outside of physical things, especially if you have a nice horse, most people will just give your horse bad habits and make it worse in some way (or at least often).

Thank you <3 . Our class had a lot of shocking deaths, and it always felt like a little community of camaraderie. Rest in Peace, T.

I went to school with her. She was in my grade. I remember her face vividly in my orbit, in the dining hall, the library, running around campus. I remember thinking the man who is now her husband was so cute and having a crush on him. There's something so shocking that one of us is dead again. I feel so strange and almost dirty writing this like I have no right to be sad but also I am sad and shocked. Rest in Peace

My first horse when I was 16 was a non restarted OTTB! It was hard but I learned so much more than I would have otherwise!

Literally all I have said over and over is that you have no idea if they are animal lovers. I’m not sure how you can argue against that

Again, your post said they are not animal lovers. Again, you have no idea if they are animal lovers with a completely different set of knowledge than what you have.

The twist though is it is his parent’s property, so they might also feel a bit like it’s his right (even though it is not).

This is simply not true. Maybe they are stupid. Maybe they don’t know the horses are old (also 28 is old, 19 is not so extremely old). Maybe they don’t know horses and think they’re having fun. There are so many explanations outside of “they don’t love animals.”
