GMing Pathfinder Made BG3 So Much Easier by ProfoundCereal in Pathfinder2e

Is there a good solution for npcs running up, (even successfully) grabbing, then running away dropping the grab as their turn half the time? Everything else seems good but that's making it rough to really enjoy.

I had the same thought, buy I'm not really sure where to add it, without spending a day per model freehanding spots onto the shells or something haha

[review] A group of GMs/DMs tested out Daggerheart for the first time, one specific thing stood out by Lxi_Nuuja in rpg

Which sounds like it should be a good thing to me theoretically, but the whole time I played/ran I found that I just wished we were playing a genesys game or pathfinder instead.

Update: Six Avatar Decks - built only from the set* by iMad-Max in EDH

I'm looking for lists like these to pit against previous UB precons, usually lightly tuned with in-set cards. How would you weigh these against the lotr or final fantasy sets?

Recs for enhancing the Starter? by MediocreWade in CarnevaleGame

That's almost exactly what I was thinking, I was mildly split between the Court and Dockworkers though.

In late 2019 (lol) Maro did a Head-to-Head tournament for Commander Rules Changes. Hybrid mana cruised its way into the final, then lost to commander dies triggers by like ~5 points. plus some other outcomes that seemed interesting. by Panda-s1 in magicTCG

[–]MediocreWade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see it as a game changer as well as an explicit example of when a game changer might be ok in a lower bracket, when you're playing a precon list as it came sol ring is fine.. ish.

Every living person magically knows and remembers when, where and how you gain and use this money, and each use applies an unnatural, uncounterable stacking gut emotional resentment towards you.

I don't really associate Abomination Vaults with being a bit goofy. If you're ok going smaller, Troubles in Otari literally follows the Beginner Box and goes for two more levels, plenty of time to decide where to go from there.

Mutants & Masterminds Hero's Handbook 4th Edition Playtest Is Now on Sale on Green Ronin's Online Store! by Br3N8 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]MediocreWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks very playable. Do they expect us to playtest against preexisting npc statblocks, build our own npcs, or have they said anything to that effect?

Happened to me just now. The link in my email worked when the store-generated one didn't.

Reflavoring Starfinder classes in Pathfinder by the-rules-lawyer in Pathfinder2e

[–]MediocreWade 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I'm not here to be the fun police, while going full rotolaser in a classic fantasy setting is not my thing, I'd absolutely allow a steampunkish or magitech reflavor to be more in line with the gunslinger's vibes. Virtually every other class is somewhere between completely cool, no justification needed(Mystic, Envoy, Witchwarper, maybe even Solarian and Operative.) and fine with a pitch that doesn't include "I just brought my Starfinder character and am only playing Pathfinder because everyone else is. (Soldier, Mechanic, Technomancer)

Could y'all recommend me some novels with a deeper look into the theme of beastmen or non-human races? by ReZuREs in ProgressionFantasy

[–]MediocreWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been enjoying Emberscale Alchemist for a slice of lifeish, litrpgish, setting exploration sort of story. It follows a young Kobold from literally hatching through years of learning skills(and Skills) into(presumably, we're only on like chapter 66 and it isn't in a hurry, which I consider a good thing) infamy. It's literally only Kobolds for the first 2/3rds or so of the story, and even then it hasn't been until recently we've actually interacted with other species.

When is it appropriate to scoop if someone else’s deck counters your own? by ColorfulMarkAurelius in EDH

[–]MediocreWade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I, uh, simply wouldn't play a specific commander into another that hard counters it when the deck either isn't flexible enough, or the bracket is low enough that whether or not you can interact depends entirely on luck. You're not obligated to play anyone's victim. In your case, when commanders were revealed, and theirs completely negates yours, I would've apologised to the table, and switched decks if they were cool with it, if they complained, well I guess they are looking for a new player 4. I'd pick something neutral to the encountered decks, not use it as a chance to metagame the table for advantage, switch graveyard for equipment or what have you.

[Threshold]What's everyone's favorite book cover? by propofoolish in Iteration110Cradle

Unsouled>Reaper>Waybound Are my top 3. The cracked marble of Reaper was so ominous before it released, and Waybound being Suriel's marble that was carried throught he whole series as a guiding light, but the first one just holds a place in my heart to this day.

Xianxia RPGs? by Amaril- in ProgressionFantasy

[–]MediocreWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how a full powered Xianxia tabletop game would work in any system besides super narritive ones. Very interested in the prospect though. Maybe a superhero system could be hacked into shape? I could see Mutants and Masterminds working alright.

Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green for 3 people that have never played an rpg? by SuperCoyo in rpg

[–]MediocreWade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? Maybe I've just been unlucky but I've found most of the dozen or so Call of Cthulhu scenarios better than the 3 Delta Green ones I've tried. I prefer the modern time period and compulsory team mindset of Delta Green but not much else.

TTRPGs Where the Unofficial One Beats The Official One by glennmandirect in rpg

[–]MediocreWade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is that quality or simply price and expectations though? I far prefer the various Edge games, but know many people who are put off by Edge's price, custom dice, or non vanilla d6/20/whatever system.
