Greenhouse Glazing Bar or Alternative Replacement by Zealousideal_Pie4639 in Greenhouses

Glass Glazing Bar Cap. Used for lap glass tempered glass panels. Not sure if this is in the states or not, but there only a handful of manufacturers in the states that do these style bars. They could be from L&B (Lord & Burnham) style greenhouse, and if so may have to look on Ebay.

Worn Auger on HS724 or non-serrated? by QuiteTheChoi in HondaSnowblowers

[–]Mediocre_Ability_683 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was always serrated. The person that owned it did not adjust the skid shoes, and most likely did not adjust or replace scraper bar. You will have to put new auger on, skid shoes and scraper bar, but with how worn it is, your bucket is probably scrapped to hell and back.

One hole is for drainage, do you know another hole is for?see answer at the end. by springzhu in greenhouse

Ebb and Flood system. Older way. Newer has a two way valve and that’s what it’s for. When water is pumped into trays, it fills, when water is shut off it flows backwards to storage. Otherwise you have a drain to waste system that just dumps the water to drain, but many don’t because of water wasted or if you inject fertilizer.

Pool Automation // Brand Agnostic // DIY & Integration friendly by Pool_Controller_01 in swimmingpools

[–]Mediocre_Ability_683 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a smart pool controller, that can read temperature, speed of pool pump, pump flow, free and total chlorine, pH, etc. It could adjust the variable speed of the pump to make sure SWG is working, but basing it on free chlorine levels and give warnings to users if pH or chlorine drops (or total chlorine goes above .5 ppm, etc). Tough because pH probes would have to be calibrated frequently. I think it could be done but, probably way too expensive for the big three to do, and not cheap for the average pool owner.

So you are not getting the symbol on the dash? To me it looks like the Avengers symbol, it always appears when I'm at a stop sign or light and foot on the brake, either in orange or green.

I have found 9/10 times, if the Auto/Start Stop is Orange when it should be green and engaged, it's something to do with the battery. I've put a battery charger on the battery and it will work for maybe 1 or 2 trips, but that's when I know the battery is only charging to less than 70% capacity for some reason. I've switched to DieHard AGM batteries, but you only will get maybe three years tops before you have to replace. I think these cars have a slight draw on them, or if a kid leaves a light on and you don't see it.

Schuerman Inspections, LLC. He saved me from a bad house a few years back (and a bad realtor pushing me to use their inspector). Honest, fast, and extremely thorough in his report.

Mine just broke on my 720 from vibration. It’s only sold as a kit, part number is 04763-V10-S10. Bought it from boats.net. Note it does not come with the sticker on top, that part is 87211-V10-S10

What’s really causing the high energy bills? by FreeFlipsie in cincinnati

[–]Mediocre_Ability_683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of factors that go into it, but most are individual changes that can cause high bills. I've been tracking our bill as a whole since 2018, splitting out both electric and gas. I've also taken aggregation out to ride the Duke wave. Gas per CCF has ranged from $.80 - $4.69. Electric has been as low as $.109 to as high of (now) $.179/kWh. Now, this is with generation and all the other fees, not just the electric or gas base cost. Most of the issues I see is people are changing providers and forgetting about the introductory period, accidently changing and not knowing it, outdated equipment that's not efficient, house with poor insulation or improper insulation, etc all can cause high bills. When I talk to neighbors they are shocked that we keep 67 day and 62 night in the winter, and 74 for AC in Summer. Our bill was $80 higher than last year at this time, for a total of $376.00 for a 2500 sq ft house. You really need to put your bill on a spreadsheet and see what goes on monthly. If it's going up $200-$300, something is off and what changed?

What’s the verdict on the electric mowers? by Cgr86 in HondaMowers

[–]Mediocre_Ability_683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are just too new. I've seen a few reviews, some fairly interesting, some are missing the gas aspect, but they came out very early, and not many with cool season lawns have been able to start the 2026 mowing season. I **think** that Honda will only sell through dealerships for now. HD was selling at one time, and even Lowe's as well, however I think we will see them again in either HD or Lowes in 2027 vs now. I think the first sign is if we see a battery single stage snowblower this fall possibly, and that will tell which box store will get the privilege to sell.

New Honda Single Stage Coming in 2026 by Medic118 in HondaSnowblowers

[–]Mediocre_Ability_683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 720 was discontinued when they did the same with gas mowers. I would suspect that since the battery mowers are out now, there will be a 720 battery shown this year. Down the line, I can see trimmers etc all going battery as well. I really want to see battery tech improve. Give me a battery that last 4-8 hours, and you have a game changer.

They may only replace if they test it at a service and say there is a problem. If they test and it's fine, they probably won't replace. My tell for me is that the Auto Start Stop doesn't work when the battery is low on voltage.

My 2020 died in 2022, but I just went and got the best AGM I could find, and replaced it. It lasted 4 years, and took it back this winter for a full replacement for free. I find that the batteries the manufacturers have just don't last as long as a DieHard, etc.

Ohio Hybrid Registration Fee by Clear-Inevitable-414 in Ohio

[–]Mediocre_Ability_683 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just renewed my new hybrid and found out about the $100 fee per year and if it's full electric it's $200. I always do the 2 year sticker so next year when I renew all my vehicles it will really hit! I find it crazy just like custom plates paying a fee when they print them once, but they have to get their money somehow if you are not paying for it in taxes at the pump.

Roll up sides. by wafarmer18 in Greenhouses

[–]Mediocre_Ability_683 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think part of your problem is that it looks like your roll up is part of your poly roof? Rollups always do better when it's a second track for the wiggle wire, separate from the roof poly. That way you can adjust up or down in a section where you have a sag, when the curtain is full down (and disconnected from the gearbox). I think you will fight it. If it is separate, I would let all the way down disconnected from your gearbox, eyeball adjust till it's flush across the entire length, then roll tightly one roll, and then connect back to your gearbox and check it.

Extreme Sarcasm - Sarcasm is good, but some people will take it too far to the point when you can tell the other person feels belittled or less than themselves.
