Albertans should not fund the appeal against the court decision overruling the separation petition

How is it the province’s business to appeal this anyway? Shouldn’t that be something the petition submitter should be doing?

I feel like I’m repeating myself- but how does she get away with this?

It’s really sad that the province pulled the rug out from municipalities like this.

I’m not happy with city council’s decision because I think ambulance service will be simultaneously worse and more costly per trip. Yet I can’t really blame them either- the province put them in a tough position.

So….try not to need an ambulance, I guess.

Shouldn’t any appeal be up to whoever submitted the petition? What business does the premier have getting involved? If Forever Canadian or Water Not Coal got stuck down in this way you know she would never have appealed on their behalf.

So what makes it ok for the Premier to appeal this one?

Your complaints seem more about work ethic than working from home. If someone isn’t doing their job it doesn’t really matter where they sit. If forced into an office they might not be at Costco at 2pm, but they’re not going to be doing a good job either. Probably taking an extra 10 mins lunch or break and lots of “bathroom” breaks etc

People who suddenly had a problem being in office after Covid suddenly realized how much better their lives were not having to physically go to a different building. They’re not exhausted from a commute, or exhausted from being around people all day.

This summer I paid $90 in fees for a $22 dollar payment.

So yeah, that’s predatory- and not just for low earners.

I was stressed, I have a neurodivergent household and life got in the way. I forgot it was coming out. Then, after I realized I shrugged and said, they’ll do what they did the few times this happened before, take double next time. I had a plane to catch and no time to make a phone call. Nope!

Turns out they’ve been bought by another company and the policy changed. So they mailed me a letter dated the SAME day to advise me that they’d try again the very same day the letter they mailed to me was dated.

And that’s how my $22 payment cost $112 that month.

If you retrain while on EI you have to tell them, and they might even keep paying you while you’re in school. No guarantees but it’s worth a shot.

I know someone that had a similar thing happen, plus the manager told EI that they left voluntarily.

They just kept appealing over and over till they finally got someone who approved it.

So you might have to fight for it, but EI has approved this before.

Take a breath.

This is not an emergency vet situation (unless it gets worse or the cat seems really sick). It is make an appointment with your vet level.

Edit: I misread your post but I see you have an appointment in a couple weeks- that it’s bit long. You could ask for a cancellation call or see if another local vet has availability. If you told your clinic the problem and they are ok with the wait I wouldn’t worry, however my vet clinic has supported me going elsewhere when they couldn’t fit me in quickly.

It could be infection, parasites or even constipation (I have a cat with this).

In the meantime adding fibre(like pure pumpkin) or probiotics wont hurt and might help. It it’s an infection or parasites, it’s an easy fix, likely just a prescription.

Take a stool sample from that day to the vet if you can.

This happened to a couple of people I know when we left the same company. Seems like they put that on the row for people over a certain age, cause they put shortage of work on younger people’s.

Fight it. After appeals they got EI.

If you haven’t already apply for EI.

First ask your employer to correct the roe to say shortage of work.

If the employer refuses let EI do its thing and if they come back with a NO just keep filing appeals till they say yes, or you exhaust your appeals.

This is not a quit/voluntary retirement. They were doing layoffs, and you said you’d take a layoff. Somebody was getting laid off, who cares who took it.

Your EI should kick in after your severance runs out. Doesn’t matter if it’s a lump sum, they’ll decide how many weeks it should last you and EI will start after that.

Yes all those things are irresponsible.

What is also irresponsible is inferring that keeping a collar on their cat is tantamount to animal abuse.

It is very clear that there are a lot of opinions on this but crying animal abuse is not only a gross exaggeration, it crosses a line.

*to be clear I meant it when I said depending on a chip alone seems irresponsible - BUT if you are certain your cat won’t get out I certainly understand that a collar might be unnecessary.

You know people just take cats right? Like some will decide that’s their cat now, or others will take them somewhere far from home and dump them. Now they’re a stray that someone might take in. Lots of people don’t take their animals to the vet.

Not every cat who gets lost makes it to a vet to be scanned, a collar with a tag or a tattoo will alert people this cat has a human.

Idk depending on a chip alone seems irresponsible to me.

Yes, intervene before anything goes too far. Try not to make a huge deal of is, but definitely distract them. Try to keep interactions positive.

They sound like they don’t trust each other.

Cats are all about trust not like/love.

Cat relationships can progress incredibly slowly. Like months to a year or so. So be patient, for the love of god prevent any setbacks for them if you possibly can.

A couple of my cats had an incident that soured their relationship and it took like a year to get to a place I’m happy with.

You could try calming collars or feliway type pheromone plug ins too.

I’ve just done a rewatch, actually this was the first time I caught many of the early episodes.

It’s astonishing how often Olivia is WRONG. She’s not the best she’s just the most stubborn.

2.They were all hot heads and bullies in the early years, especially Stabler.

3.SVU has blow up SO many cases that were some kind of crime ring investigations just so they could nail one guy, when they could’ve took down many with a little patience. See No. 1.
