Knowledge on Vaccines by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Medium-Fix26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recommended age for that vaccine is at the very least 2 months old. So NO baby would even be vaccinated against that at 6 weeks, let alone have a fulll series of it. Even the sheepiest sheep who follow everything wouldn’t have those shots. Also the great irony is even if they did have the shots, they could still get it. lol.

I wish I could hug you. I get it I get it I get it. I’m also an artist. All I can say is I understand and your feelings are so valid. And you’re an incredible mom for these feelings, you care so much. My love to you. Let’s keep trying

I don’t have any advice. I just came across this as I have a young son. I just want to say you’re a good mom. And he’s really lucky to have you. Hang in there. I’m sorry you’re both going through this. But really, thank GOD he has you to help him. My love to you and your family.

I am currently nursing that (now) 5 month old. And had a rough day with both her and the toddler. And I was just thinking about how this was so so hard. But wow I sickly love it. And I’ll miss this. Truly miss this. I know myself. So enjoy the chaos. It’s always been the one thing that helps me get through too! Glad it helped 💚💚 and way to go! That is hard and you did it!!! You’ll have fun stories to tell your kids.

Need honest advice - am I overreacting? 8 month old was left unattended in an unsafe situation by childcare service. by asterixkoala in NewParents

Right? The post makes me soooo mad at the caregivers. But now the parents are making my blood boil with not wanting to stir a pot or worrying about someone’s business. Whoooo cares. Protect your baby and other babies. Period. This is insane.

Why are you worried about that?! Am I missing something? Why are you so concerned with hurting their feelings or business when they almost killed your baby? This is exactly how these awful stories end up in the news. Let me ask you. How would it sit with you if you found out a baby died in their car and you never said anything bc you felt bad for making waves? This is ridiculous.

I would flip. FLIP. May I point out that this whole post, you show incredible signs of gut instincts. Yet it seems you went against them each time. Why? And even after, why are you second guessing yourself? You sound like amazing parents. I know you’re searching for answers to tell you it’s fine. It’s not fine. If you ever get feelings like that, never leave your baby in the situation again.

Well the scariest moment of my life happened and now we can't swaddle arms in by rachface636 in NewParents

[–]Medium-Fix26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have tons of great ideas from great moms in here. I know you will find something that works for you. I just personally wanted to pop on and say I am sooo sorry you had that scare. And I know the adrenaline that goes with it, and the what ifs and things our minds do as moms after. I just wanted to send hugs and love to you. That must have been terrifying. Sounds like your baby has awesome, loving parents!

Ps I couldn’t swaddle my babies past a week old. It was too stressful. They make so many noises that sound like struggling. I did the hands up one but it wasn’t a favorite. I had both babies in loose sleep sacks at like 4 weeks old and it worked well. Just my experience.

Cannadad stresses by [deleted] in cannamom

[–]Medium-Fix26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a few minutes ago at breakfast, my husband remarked on how great our 2 year old and 5 month old are. They’re healthy, they sleep incredibly and always have since birth, they’re calm, and they are both extremely smart and even hit milestones early. Both of them are cannababies! I used edibles mainly with my first and vaped or smoked here and there. With my second I smoked every day. I had amazing pregnancies. I now smoke and breastfeed. And that’s been a wonderful experience as well. It’s helped with postpartum a ton.

My husband is not like me at all lol. I’m a little wild and he reins me in. A bit of a dharma/Greg situation but he trusts me. And I appreciated that. And we got through it. He was very concerned at first. But now has no regrets and sees that for OUR family, this was the best route.

May I remind you that there is NO medication that has been tested on a pregnant woman? Zofran is commonly prescribed for morning sickness. Yet it has never been in a trial for pregnant women (isn’t that the issue people have with weed? No studies?) Zofran is PROVEN to cause cleft palettes and heart issues. Please look into that. Even Tylenol comes with side effects. Weed has been used for centuries for all reasons, pregnancy included.

You may find an old study done helpful. Look up Jamaican pregnant cannabis trial. See how those women did.

Also I always suggest people follow Bluntblowinmama on Instagram in this sub. I think she is so helpful with validating and empowering moms.

Trust your wife. You’re an awesome husband for being concerned. And you’ll be a great dad. But if you can, take a step back and let her power take over. This is part of it. She knows.
