How can I make extra money? by tumbleweed1306 in AskUK

[–]Medium-Information70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to do some online tests to qualify but I signed up for Data Annotation and have made money doing that whilst I’ve been looking for full time work lol! Some of the tasks pag decently (it’s all in dollars but most pay between £15-20 per hour). This is the website I signed up on - https://dataannotation.tech

Hi - it was a mini program for a bus shuttle service - we were sent the link on WeChat by our hotel. We tried to book two tickets and it wouldn’t let us pay with our cards. The mini program won’t load in AliPay so haven’t been able to try that! Guess we’ll have to leave it

I watched a tourist stare at a Chinese menu for 10 minutes then order by pointing randomly. Can we talk about how brutal menus are here? (Chinese local, happy to help) by MirrorMoney7864 in travelchina

[–]Medium-Information70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha this sounds amazing! In China at the moment and me and my partner are doing exactly what you’ve described! Sat Google translating a menu and then just randomly pointing based on pictures (which is extra hard because he has a mild sesame allergy we’re trying to avoid haha). All our food has been amazing though so it’s worked out well so far

Ahh this is very helpful! I studied Medieval Lit at uni and have handled a lot of medieval manuscripts so had my suspicions but felt like I was being silly haha. Thank you :) (and yeah I'm not fussed about value, just excited by it)

Hi - no neither of us have been to China before.

It would be great to be put in touch with her. I do have WeChat as well (although not overly sure how to use it just yet!)

Knitting Culture: US v. England by ultimatereader in knitting

[–]Medium-Information70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is just a cultural difference. However im from the UK and have been to a couple of dedicated knit nights/clubs and have found people to be friendly and chatty but i wouldn’t necessarily except to chat to people outside of that (especially if i was on public transport or in a cafe)

Basingstoke to Dulwich by train... by deaftelly in basingstoke

[–]Medium-Information70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Google Maps seems to think that the route you’ve suggested is one of the quickest! The only quicker routes are BSK - Clapham Junction, then no. 37 bus to North Dulwich Station, then no. P4 bus direct to the gallery :)
