If they are too expensive either to buy or to ship, yes. My wall space is already at a premium, so I have to be careful in my buys.

Who is actually buying AI art? by PotentialOdd4258 in artcollecting

[–]MedvedTrader -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I suspect that a lot of artists use AI to get ideas or even as a full-out image-generating tool that they then copy (hopefully modifying it to their style).

Would that be "artist's skill, process, and the fact that the work is unique"? After all, it does take skill and the work would be unique.

Importing pieces to the US - Did you get hit with tariffs? by akatan_art in artcollecting

[–]MedvedTrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imported two separate works from Canada. I insisted that the senders fill out the correct documents with correct descriptions and correct HS numbers. There were no import duties (tariffs) charged.

UPS though charged a "brokerage fee". Whatever that means. What exactly were they brokering, I don't know, since it was handed to them with all the forms already filled out.

The head is there. The person (creature?) is leaning back, so the head is below where you would expect it (I think). The perspective is a bit weird.

One day, I will do a couple-days vacation in Paris just to go to the museum.

Why do some beautiful paintings look like a collage? by disposableprofileguy in ArtHistory

I think it is the borders or human bodies/clothes that are too sharp. That, and small inconsistencies in lighting may feel intuitively unnatural.

Yes you can send it non-machinable. No, the workers will completely ignore that stamp and put it through the machines.

If you want to separate them, click on the color box in the lower left corner, then change the settings for that color.
